glass t-tops not shiny anymore
alright d00ds, i have tried continuously to clean my glass t-tops, they dont come clean, the onyl way i have found that gets the stuff off is a razor and you scrap it off, its some white dust once its off. It looks like water dried up and left a spot but it wont come off any other way. It takes too much time, any solutions anyone. I'd really appreciate it.

I've had to use a razor blade before, it doesn't take that much time, I don't think it takes much more time than using a polish or something. However try this and this will take more than the razor blade method, but it will get your t-tops looking real nice...d00d. Use a clay bar I suggest a Clay Magic bar, its about $10 and its just as good if not better than the more expensive ones....next after you use the clay bar get some 3M rubbing compund fine cut and polish it up with that. Afterwards use some 3M imperial handglaze. Next step to protect it use some RainX or if you got some sort of wax use that. Might cost you a bit but you won't have to do it for a good while. This method works well if you have some stubborn water spots on your paint as well...a good polishing with the 3M rubbing compound takes them off, but I suggest you use a little vinegar and water mixture before to try get the water spots of the paint if they're just surface spots, that might be all you need. The imperial handglaze is awsome, it gives you a good deep shine, but the key though is in protecting the surface afterwards with a good wax. Your t-tops should look new after you do this...hope this helps d00d

Oh, I wasn't trying to question you, kidrcth; just mentioning I'm in the same boat. I've been looking for some glass replacements locally but to no avail.
Anyway, it sounds like with the glass ones clean-up is indeed very possible. I've tried with my lexan ones but haven't come up with any discernible results.

Hey BirdsofPray...You should try some plastic polish...maybe use some fine sandgrit paper first, like do some wetsanding with 1000 and then maybe 1500 or 2000 and then follow up with some plastic polish...or what have you already tried? I see t-top cars in the yard all the time, I had to buy a replacemtn for one of mine once...it was $45 but I don't think it was that bad.

Mothers plastic polish is great stuff. I can't say I've tried it on lexan, but it does an awesome job on third brake light covers.
As for the glass, have you tried Goof-Off? That stuff will remove anything.
