New IROC in the family
Hey everyone,
My brother just bought his first car last week and he cleaned it up yesterday so I took some pics. What do you guys think?

101K miles on it. No performance mod plans yet, but he wants to get the tint re-done, get new front turn signal housings, and some better exhaust tips for the Flowmaster muffler.

Ahh 1985....Back to the Future was in theatres, The Smiths released their "Meat is Murder" album....and the Camaro was looking better than ever.

Car looks awesome man. My Z28 is also my first car too.
Just clean up that engine bay with degreaser and a hose and it will look as good as new. I'm sure you can help him out with some polishing

One engine question, i though all tpis had the battery on the drivers side, and tbi and carbs had the battery on the passenger side

No I have an '86 TPI motor and my batt. is on the pass side.
I like it over there too, out of my damn way for the most part.
I've seen very few car's with the battery anywhere else. Or maybe I just didn't really take notice much
Anyway, thats where mine is.
Hey very nice for a first car, how old is he?
I was 16 when I bought my '86 Iroc...It was white w/blue int. and every RPO code you could get.
And I wrecked it, am still in the process of fixing it.
Hope he has better luck and more brain's than me.
But all you can do is just warn them.

We will probably go to the track next summer if I insure the IROC for a few weeks of fun.
The car was repainted sometime and the stickers were left off. He wants to get new ones once he gets a job and some money starts coming in. And yes, unfortunately he will be driving it in the winter. But mine is saved at least

very nice
Man I wish I could've found something like that for my first car. But instead i'm 16 and stuck with a 2.8 liter that right now is screwed with a camshaft problem and may just drop a new 2.8 or something hopefully a lil bigger engine but ya. I love that car very nice.

Very nice. It must not have been driven in winter on the salt baths NY calls roads. You can tell it was cared for very well by the previous owners. A great find. BTW- I love the wheels on that year.

just be sure you drive some sense into him. id hate to see another iroc succumb to a 16yr old pedal-stompin tranny-thrashin kid.
is he a TGO member?

Wow, that's a beaut... awesome find.
But yeah, as others have mentioned... tell him to be careful with it, being his first car... some amount of horsepower + RWD + carelessness = you know what.
It's great lookin'! Nice addition to the family

Yep, the nose was spider webbing pretty badly, so I am going to get it repainted and also I will most likely be adding 91/92 ground effects.

Yep, and then they put it in the garage for me. I had been meaning to get around to that sooner or later.
