Quad Exhaust Tips on a Thirdgen

I was browsing through some Camaro websites and I found a Quad Exhaust Tip kit for 4th Gen Camaro's and it really tickled my fancy.

I've done searches and I haven't come up with any 3rd Gen Quad Tip Kits, but I have some ideas.

In the 4th Gen kit, it comes with additions to the rear bumper so that the tips sit flush with the bottom of the bumper and the outside edge. I've seen Red Raif's quad tips, and they are similar to what I was thinking...

But what if you actually got a spare rear bumper cover, and cut into it and fiberglassed it to house the quad tips? How possible is that? Do you think it would be a good idea? Or just one of those "WTF is he thinking?" kinda things?

Can anyone with access to photoshop do up something similar to that idea on the rear bumper of a 91-92 Camaro?

Thanks,

-Joe Bliz

Err. Bit of a quick chop, and the first rear-end shot I found happened to have ZR1 tails, so yeah. I'll do a better one on a stock rear end later.

Edit: Err... oops. screwed up the attachment. See next reply.

Just my opinoin, but i think it would look fugly. Maybe in person, but in the photoshop it just doesn't look right. I would think a nice turn down after the muffler would look clean, but then again, if you want to show off some tips, that would be the point!

spike1856 - Thanks for the quick chop... it basically looks like a factory corvette rear. I kinda like the look though. If all else fails I can get a pic of my rear tonight if you really need to.

86IROCNJ - I like showing off the tips, the thing is right now I have the cliche 3" slant cut tips that come with the flowmaster muffler/catback installation. Problem is that basically everyone and their mother goes to the same shop in my small town, so everyone and their mother has the 3" slant cut steel tips.

My tips are starting to rust on the bottom, and I'm checking out what a quad tip system would look like. I just fell in love with it on the 4th Gen, I just wonder what it will look like on a 3rd Gen.

Thanks again, I'm still looking for more feedback.

Its cool. You have to do you, b/c like you said, "everyone and their mother" has a lot of the same crap on their cars. I have the same tips as you but in 3.5" dia and in SS. No rust yet after 4 1/2 yrs of driving around. I like them. Only reason i am changing to what i mentioned is b/c it is different and i now do not want to direct attention to that area of my car. I want a cleaner look. To me that is what i think would achieve that look for me. later man

I like center exhaust, but with 4 tips it looks a little bit too much. Just my nickel's worth.

I think it looks really good on the white Z-28... not too sure about the red Camaro though.

One of my friends had the idea of putting some new school camaro tips (the flat wide ones) and have them sit next to each other in the center of the bumper, but I'm not too sure how that would work out.

Thanks for the photoshops spike, they turned out good.

That taillight kit went off the market a few years back now. If you do a search you may be able to find out about the company. I know they pop up on ebay from time to time. People want rediculous types of money for them too, i just don't see why!?!?

ever played gran theft auto vice city? there is an f-body thing that looks like a firebird with a blower sticking out of the hood and corvette/70-73 camaro tailights. it looks just like that red car, minus the quad tips.

EW! Center exhaust looks like crap on 3rd gens, and to me NOT as bad on 4th gens but still bad. Someone has a blue camaro floating around here with that dual center tuneable trapp mufflers, its a nice car and all but the exhaust just doesn't fit it IMO.
