Have you guys seen the new commercial with the woman jogger and she gets into a blue 85-87 SC Camaro? I just seen it

 

Nice to still see them use our cars in commercials.

 

yeah i pointed that out to my friend that was watching TV with me. He thinks i'm ridiculously addicted to these cars. lol. I've also noticed a red iroc with gold ground effects that is on tons of Seinfeld episodes. It must be owned by someone working on the show. My girlfriend is also thinks I'm nuts because I always point out Camaros and Firebirds when we're driving anywhere! She's starting to be able to identify them

 

I hear ya Jeremy. I'll blurt out a thirdgen as soon as it hits my retina. And she's learning how to spot them, too.

Incidentally, Anyone remember the thirdgen that gets crushed near the beginning of "Gone in Sixty Seconds"? Tsk tsk tsk, what a saaad sight.

I know what you guys mean, after owning a few, my wife can now point out any Camaro and 9/10 times she can tell the engine size and year of the car..she rocks.

 

I just saw the Wendys commercal too. I was wondering why they chose a 3rd Gen in it? Its because they are great cars & people recognize them.

 

yup......i saw it.........remember in 8 mile? There were a couple of thirdgens.

 

I haven't seen the commercial, but there was a red IROC drawn into the parking lot of Strickland Propane on King of the Hill last weekend.

my girl can pick out thirdgens too, i guess after 2 years of dating a TGO member it comes naturally. unfortunately she has grown to despise them after hearing me talk about them 24/7. did you know that some people have hobbies other than cars??? who would have thought....

and yes i did see that 87 formula that got crushed in gone in 60 seconds. terrible waste of a good car. but then again the shelby got crushed at the end too so i guess they werent exactally stripped for cash when they made that movie....

 

Darn, someone beat me to this. Yes I indeed viewed that particular Wendy's commercial advertisment. I was very enthralled to see a thirdgen, let alone an older Sport Coupe be used. About time too. I get tired as hell seeing Mustangs in just about every commercial.

 

Yeah, it would have been about 100x cooler if she tore it up with a fat smokey burnout though...

I caught that commercial with my mother, who owned a '67 when she was my age and now owns a '00 Z28, and we both yelled "camaro!" as soon as it showed up on camera. I see 3rd gens all over the place, and can't help but yell out the model as soon as I see it. My now ex-girlfriend got pretty good at it too from being around me, and she doesn't car much for cars at all. I think a lot of my college buddies think I'm obsessed... well I am, but they think it's a bad thing!

 

I really want to see this commercial.

Also in Snoop Dogg's video, there is a red thirdgen Camaro in the background where the short guy is trying to beat Snoop Dogg down.

And I thought it was bad when my girl can identify the year and possible engine combo of almost any thirdgen she gets close enough to examine. I'm not alone anymore!!!

 

If you notice in the Snoop video it's there in one take, gone in the next, then back again! Ooops

Or was it the other way around, gone, there, then gone? Either way, pretty silly

Think your obssessed with 3rd gens? Try this... I put a huge bowtie on my roof for Xmas this year in white lights. Some thought it was stupid but most thought it was cool or funny. People all down my street were talking about it. My wife wanted a star on the roof. I told her it was a star. Last year I had CAMARO on the roof. Dont have a TV tho. Havent had one for over 8 years. They are useless one eyed demons that drain your brain cells.

 

When I saw the commercial I was like coll a third gen. Then i thought there would be a topic about it soon on here and low and behold a day later i get on here and there is!

 

yea i find myself doing the same thing... i see a 3rd gen and im look... "hey look .. .theres a 3rd gen" lol....ive been in like love with every camaro and firebird of every year.... i just think they are the greatest cars ever... eh.. ok... enuff babbling on about how great our rides are... :lala:

just watched Kingpin again and noticed a black firebird in the parking lot when roy munson and vanessa angel are fighting and he gets thrown on the hood. they prob needed a car with a nice long hood, lol.

HAHAHAA! dude, that chevy bowtie on your roof is unreal! Congratulations, you are offically obsessed! I wouldn't be surprised if that inspires me to light up a huge firebird emblem on my roof some day. lol I'm glad I'm not the only one naming years and option packages when any f-body passes me on the road. We should have a poll to determine what % of our significant others feel that we care about our cars more than them. Maybe another poll to see if they're right or not. lol

 

yea... i liked the xmas light up idea also... i think we should have a F-Foby Quiz.... just for fun... and see wut people no about the third gens.... good idea?

 

I know that I took an f-body quiz thing like 4 or 5 years ago. I don't remember if it was on this site or someone's personal site
