idea for my paint job- pics inside

I have an 84 TA and I know i'm going with some silver color. Most likely Pewter Metallic or Chrysler Platinum. I'm almost sure that I want to paint the A-pillar black and I'm considering painting the b-pillar black also. I used 86WS6_Ta's car for the pics since it was already pewter metallic and i may or may not go with the wraparound spoiler.

Everyone let me know what you think of the black photoshopped pic or if you like it better in pewter. Thanks!

here's the photoshopped one. kinda makes it look like a 'vert. I bet it'd be even better with a notchback. let me know what you think!

That reminds me of the fourth-gen Z28 which had the top half and mirrors black regardless of the color of the rest of the car. I like the way it looks and have thought about what it would look like on a third-gen.

It kinda looks strange with the spoiler body color.. It would probably look better if the spoiler was black too (if your 84 has the wrap around.)

My 82 had the a-pillar black I guess it was ok...

Yeah the 4th gens is where I got the idea from. And I agree it looks a bit off with the spoiler being body colored. I may not go with the wraparound though so the spoiler I go with will have an impact on my decision.

I dunno......

I'd have to see it in person. It looks like it takes away from the flow of the design.....

Not a third gen thing. It looks good with a 4th gen because the B pillar has a gap between the bottem of it and the 1/4 panel, whereas a third gen does not. All one color looks much better.

I think the silver with the black pillars and spoiler looks awesome! Goes well with the dark wheels too. Dare to be different!!

Ditto. Works on a forth gen, different lines and the roof and b pillar is much smaller. Looks kinda odd on a thirdgen car.

it looks like it's pretty even right now with a little more against than for. If i go witht eh wrap-around spoiler than i think all pewter is better becasue of the difficulty to determine a border... but if i go with a different spoiler, I'm still considering it. keep the opinions coming!

Car: NONE! and it SUCKS!
You could get away with painting the A-pillar black because it's such a thin piece of body, and is surrounded by tinted glass. The B-pillar however is far too wide to paint black... and because it naturally blends with the body so well, there is an obvious visual trend to think it is out of place.

Fourth gens look good with the black b-pillar because of the design and shape of the body.

Just my two Cents. Stick with the Current paint scheme.

I understand what you mean about how the b-pillar blends into the body more on the 3rd gens than 4th gens. That's why when i look at the car it's hard to determine exactly where the border would lie. But tacky? I've seen tacky and I don't think this qualifies.

The 4th Gen has a definite start and end of the pillar, so it works.....however on a thirdgen, i don't see it working all that well......

there is a camaro here in town that is silver, the top half is a deep purple, it is purple like you have but the hood and deck lid are also purple, it goes from the crease in the back up on the b pillers and comes down the fron fenders about a half inch

in my opinion it looks really good

i would show you a pic but she dont drive it in the winter
