try "LFN AT U" he has probably 50 pairs of tailights easily

For the record, the only set in "public view" is a cardomain member known as "doneup83camaro". He made them himself. I don't beleive he's going to market them either. Iroc2nv and CrazyHawaiian are cooking something up I believe (and I'm working on a semi-Graboid style
). Here's a link to the site http://www.cardomain.com/id/doneup83camaro, and here's a picture;

I appreciate the amount of work that went into those, but I think they are truly horrible.
Whether you drive a thirdgen or a civic: just say NO to clear taillights.

I think the main No-No is using foil. LOL!! Yeah I'm modifying the stock taillights to look different. Same enclosure shape and materials, but the light patterns modified to work with sequential taillights. I think Iroc2nv is going the whole 9 yards and actually making his own enclosures. In any event, there is no aftermarket support for these types of things. Everything will have to be custom.

well, the car goes in when this aweful weather breaks.. and the altezzas are goin in fully customized (more custom body work again to make it happen).. but devianb did a photoshop for me and i think itll look good...
there is noone in the world that mass produces them for our cars. I spoke to apc ( the largest company to make and sell them) on many occasions..(once again at speedorama toronto this past weekend) and they always have the same thing to say...
there is not enough demand for them..so its not worth it for them to make mold because they would lose too much money.
here is the photochop that devian did...its the bottom version (they are carbon fibre)

After I took the 'bubble' and red lenses off my tail lights, all I had were red bulbs and the silver backing, and they looked like AlGAYzzas. I hated the look, and I got some nods from ricers.
I don't have any pics here, but pics 12 and 13 on page 4 of my site kinda give you an idea.

My car has been called ryce on several occasions, I don't really mind it, People will probably call the corvette fuel rail covers on my LS1 ryce, I could care less simply because there is an LS1 sitting underneath those covers........
Prehaps this is the style that our cars fit.......

See where it says "posts" under our Avatars? See Iroc2nv's "posts"? They're up around 1500. Yours are 141. That means you don't get to say "shudder in disgust" when refering to his car.
His car is NOT my style either, but he deserves the respect of the community here on TGO.
Sniff, can't we all just get along?

I give more respect to people who ve been on this site and stayed on this site long, not people who posts look at my new polish job or which rims look best, or nice car over and over
Actually, I was a member of this site back in '99-'00 back when TGO had an off topic board. My user name was Slowmaro3.1 if you want to verify this....
And since when does post count have anything to do with opinions of other peoples cars...
I totally agree with you FLYNLOW, I never said the cars should look ******* though.....
It's kind of like my taste in music. I like a little bit of everything but hate country music becuase I strongly dislike it.
His car = country music in my eyes. If you don't like my opinion, oh well.

If you say you were here, i beleive you....no need to verify.
...and yeah, I suppose posts have nothing to do with your opinion, but there are tasteful ways to express it. That's all.
There's no need to say his car disgusts you. Even if maybe it does!

alot of work went into them but ***-damn......
I know, it was a little out of line, I was just feeling sarcastic at the moment.
Plus, I work tech support for a large computer company (starts with D, end with ell) and I just had a nasty call and made that post while on my break cooling down.
So I apologize if I ruffled any feathers...

I dont know whats worse, r*ce or red neck. I do know that all thoes tail lights look like crap. I like to take a different approach and make them modern day muscle cars but hey that could just be me. That seems to do away with the r*ce and the ******* all in one swoop, I gues unless it has a "hemi." I dont find the appeal in them at all. Making different tails is one thing, making clear lights is another. I think it looks like crap 100%. Make something else, but please thoes examples look so horrible.

GEEEZ chill out people. I agree I would definately twitch and go into convulsions if I was behind the first car and saw the taillights. But if I saw the guy outside of the car I would commend him on his efforts at any rate. Its definately something different that no one else will do and alot of time went into it. Just not my style. There's too much flaming on this board at people who are seriously interested in doing stuff and try to get CREATIVE critisim. I agree if Johnny John John comes on with 19 posts and asks about different stripes for his 92 camaro and wants a million different pics and tells everyone who posts then that they suck he should be flamed to hell but I do my best to respect those who actively contribute to the boards and are serious about there cars. I would like to contribute more myself but I don't have adequite time and knowledge...

I am not a stock ****, maybe modifying the stock lights will look good, but I have yet to see a set of clear tail lights on any domestic vehicle (they look even worse on trucks) look good.

I belive so as well. I can't imagine trying to make your own clear lights. I used to love them back when they first came out because no one had them, then every got them and suddenly they became less appealling and common.

i like those......
thats what ive always wanted was those taillights. i think they look clean and very non stereotypical import. maybe not on all colors and maybe even not at all if i look at them in person however i always thought regular clear lenses would look awesome like on my pearl paint. anyone know how its done? id like to buy another set and see how it turns out. i just despise the ALTEZZAS though. very cheap looking and really doesnt "fit" on ANY car.
With how easy it is to change out the tail light lenses on a Camaro, I wouldn't mind having a set of Altezza style lenses to put on once in a great while. Not permanently, just put the old ones back on after I'm done cruising around with them on. That, and a screw-on type fart can, and a Velcro or strap-on wing.

the name "altezza" itself is straight from Japan......it's from the Toyota Altezza...the first car to have these type of taillights. The Toyota Altezza is the japanese counterpart to the Lexus IS300 which also has these type of taillights. IMHO, The Altezza and the IS300 are the only vehicles that should have them.

I like those "stock clear" lenses alot, thats kinda what I had in mind. Someone on this board was trying to produce some at one time...does anyone know what happened with that?

For the record...
I believe the following picture to be a photoshop. Maybe its been gone over before, if so, ignore me... look at the lines that mate up at the lower front GFX on the fenders... The wheels look "odd". Look at the front one.

That picture is from an ebay auction so if it is a photoshop who ever bought the car would of been mad. But I think its just lowered and the geometry hasn't been corrected, like so many do.

I remember someone saying the front is from an RX-7 body kit, and he molded it in. I'm pretty sure it's real with all the pictures he had.

In regards to "clear tail-lights" I'd like to have the stock Camaro lights with a clear plastic molded cover, like the Firbirds and some Buicks. This would create more visual depth to a flat surface.
The cheap plastic tinted covers I've seen are NOT the desired effect.
Has anyone made nice clear, molded covers?

could you guys QUIT with the derrogatory comments toward Redneks? i am from South Alabama and i am PROUD to be a Rednek. there is a big difference between Redneks and backwoods inbred HICKS. i find it really disrespectful when ya'll begin running down Redneks or trashing cars because they look "Rednek". i am asking nicely and not trying to cause an arguement. the type of people who do that kind of crap to a car are NOT Redneks, they are HICKS. that, i guess by Rednek terminology is the white trash version of a Rednek, if you will, lol. i dont have any issue with anyone on this site, i like ya all, but please choose your words a little more carefully, please?
Josh
p.s.-i think it is crap that i have to modify the word Rednek to type it out. IT ISNT A FOUL WORD PEOPLE!!!! im sure i can type out Yankee, or Northerner, or any other word describing a person from the North, so why are the Southern words bad now?

I like the carbon fiber photoshop tailights. On your car, that would look sweet. Sorta like a corvette/skyline kinda of look. I like it.
I want to do the ZR1 panel and mold it into the back bumper to get rid of the lines. Then put clear lenses over the corvette style openings. Gives the white clear light look like in Irocthe5.7 pic. That with hawks 5inch spoiler would look awesome.
