did color matter?

When buying your 3RDGen, did color make a difference to you?

For instance, I bought a maroon IROC-Z when I wanted ANYTHING but maroon...

Did color matter to you or did you want that specific car so bad that you were "colorblind"?

When I bought my first thirdgen, I just wanted a Camaro that ran, as the Celebrity I was driving was falling apart. It hapenned to be red, which I liked, but when you pay $475 you can't be picky.

When I bought my IROC-Z, well heck who wouldn't love a clean black IROC-Z?

The car just happened to be blue, which was what I was hoping for. After looking at a ton of thirdgens, I was just searching for one that was not all hacked to pieces and/or with *******-ish mods.

My car was a mess, but it was an all original mess, so I took it home with me.

When I was looking for my first one, I wanted black or blue. I found a black one and bought it. I liked the black so much, that my second one had to be black. And it had to have t-tops, since my RS didn't. And it had to have a 350. I guess I got lucky cause I found everything I wanted.

ever since i saw MrIrocZs black vert, i had to have one.

i ALMOST bought a black vert... but the evening i went back to buy it, it was sold... friend reminded me... wait, i have this typed already:

http://josh.swoca.net/board/mrdude/Vertpics/before.htm

i spent about two and a half months looking for a clean 91-92 Camaro convertible. After all that time, i find this nice black 91. everything i want, i test drove it, it was great. the dealer wanted too much. so i went home and thought about it. the next day i decide to get it. i call the dealer, only to find it sold right after i left yesterday! damn. so i goto the motorcycle shop i usually hang out at... a friend there reminded me the new autotrader comes out today.. so i go across the street and pop in the local 7-11.. i thumb thru it, and there she is.

click the link to read the rest... long story short, mostly clean one owner dead stock vert for a price i could not walk away from.
so my search for a black 91-92 5spd car netted me a dark metallic red automatic... but that doesnt matter.. it now has a T56 and a 400 will be in soon

I didn't want red, but when I found a low mileage car with the options I wanted...I had to act. BTW, same thing happened with my SS...I did not want black although I think it looks great. PIA to keep up. Oh well...

I really wanted anything but white or teal (white with red stripes was ok tho) but I actually almost bought two different all white Z28's ..still smaking myself in the head for not tho... I actually had no clue what color my car was the pic looked like a nasty army green but when I went to look at it I loved it... and it was mint.. so I bought it..

Ya like someone said now a days when i do go and look at irocs i dont even care wat color just as long as its its not a piece of junk/t-tops/decent mileage/350 and still yet to come havent found anything...some steady income of $$ would help too.

When I was looking for my car, I was just looking for something that wasn't rusted and looked decent enough to drive around. I found it in the classifieds here for $500 I ended up getting an 89 formula 350 at the same time from another ad on here for $700 to donate the drivetrain. It turned out to be white... which i don't mind. It's gutted right now so I still haven't driven it and don't know if i'll end up having it on the road or not before it's repainted silver. So for me... the color really didn't matter at all!

here's a pic of how it looked when i got it. I have to get my digital camera out to the garage and take some current pics of the teardown.
