Okay, new RS/SS car pics!!!
This is the car after paint, just a few pics for everyone to look at, let me know what you think. The interior (seats and all) still needs to be finished and I am getting black or white stripes on the car later this spring.
Enjoy!!!!

Notice the stereo and heat/ac controls, they have been deleted, with a nice custom cover for it!

Dynoed at the fly 525 hp!

She is a work in progress, I hope to have her mostly done this summber, but I love her, she flys like a jet and is smooth as a baby's butt!!!

Everything looks sweet, except for, in my opinion the "SS" emblems, are they just stickers or what? I mean don't get me wrong I really respect all of the hard work you put into it, just the "SS" stickers don't do it for me, maybe you but not me. Anyways great looking car!!!

First, yes I am getting rims, I just am working towards that by summer. I am going to get Y2K vett rims or the new 3rd gen SS wheels from SLP 17" all the way. And, I have a 14x4" K&N filter on order now, so you just nailed what I am doing on the nose, we all think alike!!!
Yes, most will not like the SS decals, but I like them, custom looking. Yes, they are custom stickers made by the same shop that is making my stripes, cost me nothing to have them made because I came back from Iraq a few months ago and they gave them to me as a sign of thanks.
Thanks for the complements, she is coming along!

I don't drive the car unless it is a bright sunny day, because there is no windsheild wipers, no heater, no a/c, nothing. It is just a drive car on nice days, no weather hits that car at all.

Look great! Except it looks like the side and rear "SS" badges are upside down. I always thought the smaller part of the "S" supposed to be on top?

I agree that the stickers look upside down- but i think its a sweet car none the less. Also, If that grill was black, and headlight pockets were black (I am guilty of the headlight pockets being red), then it would look KILLER. I would love to see some numbers of this monster!

I'm not really a big fan of badging it as an SS, but if I were to do it I'd make it look a little more custom. Those look like you just went to the dollar store and picked up a sheet of stickers and put two S's on there. And I agree with the others that the S's look upside down.
Aside from that, it looks great. I like the hood alot. And you can't argue with 525 HP at the fly

The SS stickers are custom made, as for the pic showing the front grill, the SS stickers in that pic are old, I have new ones on now, just no good front pics up yet like that one that shows more of the car.
Yes, I do think the stickers are upside down, when I got them they did not look like they were different (up or down) until I got them on, now I see they are.
I will be putting black stripes on it soon, so I was planning on replacing them anyway, so for now they will work, but when I do the stripes I will replace them with black SS stickers with white outline and just a little bit smaller on the rockers (sides).
Thanks for the imput, I know many don't like the SS idea, but I do and that means I am happy with it.
Wheels, stripes, new SS decals all on the way for the exterior of the car.
Inside: new seats, roll cage, new carpet, new custom floor mats, B&M Mega shifter all on the way.
When the exterior is done, I think all will agree with me it is smokin!

Yeah, it would look alot better with different emblems, that aren't upside down.
The black headlight pockets and grill would look better too. With the cowl hood and wide racing stripes it will look more like a 1st Gen Z28. Since it's supposed to be an RS/SS, I'd put the fender to door stripes, if thats's not already your plan.

I did not have plans for new stickers, until I seen they were upside down. Now I am looking at some early 68-69 emblems. Who knows, I want it to look different, some, at least.
I have some side pics, but noting that shows the car very good, I will get some and post them soon.
The stripes I believe that IROCZTWENTYGR8 is talking about are the old style from the bottom of the front fender that stripe back about to the end of the door, with a space on the fender so you can put "350" or "307" whatever the motor, it's an idea I hade, but I like the stripes better. Both are nice, will see what happens when I do the stripes???
Lots of people like the black light area and grill, but I like the red better myself. HOWEVER, with the black stripes coming on, I have really been thinking about that so it will match the stripes better. I just want to be sure of what I want before I do it.

Yes sir, it is!!! Good hood, fits nice, only $209 from summit.
Some modification required, however, not much!

Sweet looking ride...and welcome home from Iraq. I'm with you on the body color headlight pockets...I never liked the black, and when I repainted my car (umm...guards red, with the Harwood hood
) and posted pics, I got the same comments about the light pockets. Keep it just the way it is (but yeah, either replace those stickers, or flip the car upside down for the next set of pics

Thanks, yep, the stickers are gone. I am going today to start the process for the black racing stripes and the new black/white SS stickers (and I think for the hell of it I will put them on the right way this time
)
Will get those pics up soon.
Thanks again..

I have to use cowl induction, my carbed motor sticks out real tall, just fits under the 3" cowl, so I am sure the SS hood would rub some.

i believe that all original 69 ss cars had cowl induction, not fourth gen style ss hoods.

The cowl hood and racing stripes were mandatory Z28 items. SS's got non-functional louvers but some people ordered the cowl hood as an option.
