car cleaning pet peaves
So what gets at u the most? For me its got to be the hose/extension cord getting stuck under the tires, and when the water sprays back in your face. How about yall?
cleaning all that melted rubber off my 1/4's
Actaully the worst was when they were rebuilding a very very long section of road that was on my way to work, and I didn't clean my car for the whole time (stupid me
) trying to get all the tar off my car with varsol was a royal PITA.

I'll have to agree with the hose hitting the ground and spraying up. I used to do it all teh time with the bird in the winter get the car totally dried and would hit the hose and spray all over the car. I use the no gun method now and water the grass in between hose offs. I gotta see one thing not sure if good or bad but is when i'll have it in the driveway washing it and people come up and start asking about it or whatever. Its cool to get the compliments and all but just kinda gets annoying. Also when you wash the car backed into like my driveway with a slope and the water collects in the channel between the 1/4 and the rear window then runs out all over.

The hose getting stuck under the tires, or it curling up and knocking against the car, when the hose sprays water in your face when u drop it, the dirt collecting on the back bumper right after you drive as someone else stated, the water that creeps back out from places like side mirrors, grill, and louvers after you've dried the rest of the car, and if the tire gel doesn't soak in/dry long enough, it slings it onto the car.
All of this makes me go mad
P.S. Forgot to add my ways to try and work around these problems, the hose I have to just deal with,, the back bumper I try to hit with "Quik Detailer" or a california car duster, when I'm drying the car I pop the hood to let the water drain from under the louvers, and I blow into the side mirrors to get the water out from inside it. This does pretty good for me so far...

My only complaint is about myself. I'm crazy and will spend 8 hours cleaning my car, then remember that I forgot to go to work. Oh Well

Ive had good luck just popping the hood to get the water out. Works like a charm for me.
no it has nothing to do with the actual washing process. just the drying. takes slightly longer then wiping the car down with a towel but it's worth it.
as far as lifting the hood and other parts of the car to dry. i use to do that too and for quick fixes occasionally still do however the areas where the water is hiding is often dirty and as the water slides off it pulls the dirt with you. it really depends on how clean your car is.
lifting the hood also lets water run down into the bay but i'm sure most don't really care about that.

Bad window seals that let massive amounts of water in to soak my seats. The dust on the rear bumper. Drip marks from the mirrors and door GFX. The car never actually getting completely clean(missed areas).
Other general stuff:
People leaning on my ride
People slamming my doors and using the window to do it
People that think my car is a Dinosauer!

i hate people that lean against a car and its paint......unless your naked and female you have no business doing so. anyone who thinks they aren't scratching the paint when leaning against it is ignorant.

Green Turtle Wax getting stuck in the small crack between the hood and those little black plastic things that are bolted onto them... impossible to get out.
Cleaning my carb and intake is a bastard too... clean it up with carb cleaner, drive it, and its all dirty again!

I really dislike it when I get stuck in the rain, the paint I have is so white that when I get stuck in the rain it just looks like crap, dirt and water lines all over, almost looks gray. O and yea when people lean against the car, drives me nutz...

I think the worst is the water that is behind the taillights and the water at the base of the spoiler that comes out only when you drive. I usually take a spin around the block, come back n dry it before I'm satisfied. OH and wax that gets stuck on the letters on the taillights and the water thats in the door sill.

I hate all the same problems you all have. I also hate it when I forget and roll my window down before everything is completely dry. I had a friend who had a small air compressor for airbrushing and when we'd wash our cars at his place we'd just use the air hose to force the water out of all the little cracks...worked pretty good. I'd imagine you could use a can of compressed air as well....but I don't know if its worth the trouble of using a can of air each wash.
