I have had at least 3 thirdgen firebirds, and only one had any problem with the headlamps...even that one I owned for 8 years before the problem cropped up. I swapped out the motor/gear assy off of a junk f-body and it worked again.
Lastly, for those people that say their parents taught them to only tell it like it is, what do you do when you go to work and your boss tells you to do something stupid? See? You use tact to say, "yes sir/ma'am" and then you do it. I knew your parents taught you about tact. Try to use a little of that restraint in your posts here is all the mods are asking.
ITS A FIREBIRD
My opinion on your headlights is its a firebird those headlights are one of the many things that make that car so great. If you want head lights like that buy a camaro. What i do when im on the high way or when I want that cool look when the headlights are down is i turn them off turn on the bright factory fogs and go to town.

Dropping headlights
But then again there's the topic of law enforcement officers pulling you over because you dropped you headlights, which are you primary lights! As far as I know, certain areas shun driving with fog or driving lights only (both are 55w if I'm not mistaken) because of not enough light output.

But...
... if you put more than two driving lights together, like on Raif's bird, maybe, just maybe they'll let you slide.

Hilarious thread....it seems nearly every one these days disintegrates into a veritable flame war within minutes.
Anyway, 1983Fbody, you're obviously going for a custom look - and I'd say you've got one of the most unique 'birds I've seen on here. I'd like to see some better, full car pictures in direct sunlight....but from what I can see that's some impressive work. Personally I do feel the rivets are a bit much, yet still lend a sort of muscle-car look to the ride. Again, nice work!

I finished the lights (for now) I won't mess with them until I find a better looking set of lights to go in there. You will see I made front "covers" to match the tops where my old lids used to be. I also painted all the rivets black and I think it looks alot nicer this way. Thank you for the comments and suggestions. I will probably go with '03? or '04? sunfire headlights some time in the future (when the prices go down or I win the lotto

Very true about the flaming
I am going for a custom look no doubt about it. I want it to be different than anything else, yet at the same time... I would like for the car to be appealing to most people which is why I like the honest opinions from everyone. Love it or hate it, the input helps.
I don't really care for the purists that only want to restore the cars to exact original. For example on 60's and 70's cars, the hubcaps and bias ply tires should automatically disqualify anyone from winning an award (in my book anyway). I love sleeper cars tho if I was to wanna build one I would not choose a sports car to start with.
There are a TON of excellent cars on this website and I probably do value the opinions more from people that have actually done some custom work to their cars, not just the people with a stock fbody that come here for help with their V6's engine problems. Okay anywayzzz, didn't mean to get so off-topic there...
The lights look satisfactory for now, and the important thing, they work when I hit the switch. They are slightly dimmer now so I will have to hook my driving lights back up to compensate. If the driving lights don't quite do it then I have another set of them (they are identical to the ones mounted in the "grills" now). With four of them and my slightly dimmed stocker-lights I should be blinding other drivers and stupifying deer once again!

Amazingly better without those odd-colored rivots sticking out! In my opinion, the ram air (functional or not) is a little far back, but it's kind of a neat look. I think that once you get the car one solid color it will look even better.
If nothing else, I give you credit for having the ***** to do that kind of body-work to your 'bird. I'd be too chicken. (No pun intended)

I think its a nice setup . I got the same scoop all finished molded and painted.
I like the lights and al but they look odd in the day being black and clear maybe if your car was say red, and had the hole top and front of the plex glass lid or whatever in red tint so it looked like the factory tops that be cool and would stil show light through them. I think it looks better w/o rivets showing(the way they are now) painted to match and all only bad thing would be having paint and trying to wax around em lol that would suck.
It definately appelas to my just kinda draws me in or seomthing looks nice.

MUCH better. Still not my thing and something I wouldn't do to my bird but much, MUCH better without the hideous looking unpainted rivits. Looked like a Home Depot special, lol.
Oh and Gumby, a 350 and a T56 doesn't automatically make your car fast
