Painted calipers

Painted my calipers red and added decals from a 4th gen Camaro. I also removed the excessive paint(after i took the photos), i missed with the masking in some spots.

Turned out pretty good i think.

How well do the decals hold up? I always wondered how durable stickers on a hot coarse piece of cast iron were. Maybe painting over the whole setup with clear would help, so as to not only rely on the adhesive to keep them in place?

leave the stickers right where they are and go over the whole caliper with high temp black gloss spray paint. then you'll have black calipers with red CAMARO letters painted on. i think that would look better.

Interesting Idea..

Although I'm interested to see what they look like on the car in their present state....

Nice Improvement over the stock calipers in any situation....

theres a diff between "show off" and paint/powdercoat...


mine arnt rusted.. but they arnt bright friggen stare-at-me-red.
just my opinion.

not too bad looking when installed. I like the red/silver, it looks good, however, I 2 would like to know how them stickers hold up with the heat and the wet roads and all????


If you do paint over it black, then remove the stickers, be sure you get them down nice and good, so you don't bleed under the "CAMARO" stickers and have a messed up looking item then.

Black with red letters sounds good. I just did mine with high temp brake paint, and just did stright silver all around, including my rear drums, they look good with the 17" ROH snypers showing them off a little more. Leaving them stock looking and not covering them up with anything is just stupid. You did a good job, better than leaving it alone. With them wheels you got, black or red would look good (and silver )


Let me know how the paint/stickers hold up. I only drive my car like 4 miles a week and only in perfect weather, so I know my paint will last a long time.

PS you need to also paint the rest of the area, like the surface that mounts flush with the wheel (the part that is still rusty in your pics), paint that area black or red also...

if they're decient stickers, yea they'll last.

i have two friends that have the same kind of stickers that say "TransAm" on their calipers... they've lasted over a year and a half of daily driving.
