I am officially stuck

Between what hoods to get. I have narrowed it down to either the hawks ram air hood, or the hawks 4" cowl hood. I want that aggressive race car look but i also want the underhood clearance for some of my "top secret" plans.

Ram air

4" cowl (no 4" is not to big lol)]

Definitely go with a cowl over the ram air design.... but try and find one without the "rib" down the center.

Although I'm not a fan of cowl hoods, unless they are a reverse cowl, I must say that it would flow nice with that 5" spoiler

Although a Ram Air 2 would really set your car apart from the crowd....

Like I said earlier today:

The Ram Air hood was meant to be on Trans Ams and only Trans Ams, NOT Camaros. In other words, anything but the TA Ram Air hood!!!!!!!!!!

just so you know....that cowl pic you put up is off the glasstek website.

www.glasstek.com

that's where i got my hood from, they make them in naperville, IL about 35 minutes from my house.

Go with the cowl, that ram air hood belongs on T/A's not Camaro's.

I vote for the cowl. I also vote for less than 4", unless you just have to have it to clear your "top secret" plans. I think the 4" look ridiculous.

Is that the cervini's? THe only thing i dont liek about that style is it is too low in the front. I want it to be big from front to back not reall a gradual slope. THeres a dark blue one around town with soemthing extremely simialr and i jsut dont think it gives the look i want.

WEnt to glasstek sure enough that cowl is from them and for 9 whole dollars cheaper lol. THis is what i love though, gonna see if devianb will photoshop it for me when he gets a chance.

I vote for the cowl, even though I think 4" is too big unless you need it. I'm more for a lower, sleeker looking cowl like the one maniacc has on his IROC.

I didnt even notice you lived in Saudi Aurora hahahah, but seriously i think the cowl is a much better choice, and i believe 4" is the perfect size, mine is from ASCD it's 4 " and dosnt have the gradual slope that your talking about, here's a link to mine:

i usually have the same opinion as most people on the boards, and if EVERYBODY was saying not to do something, i probably wouldn't do it if the response was so strong, but i absolutely love the ram air 2 hood, even on camaros. i say definetly go with that if you like it, despite what most people are saying

don't get a plain cowl hood...get something that is more specific to an f-body car...i mean trucks have plain cowls, mustangs have plain cowls...too many people have them. if you do w/ a plain cowl, i'd def. get cervini hardwood over any other one, unless the cost is an issue (dont know their price, but am thinking they're a good bit more expensive than fiberglass)

car that won me over to ram air 2 on camaros:

Wide cowl, only if the under side was like a normal cowl though.

Actually the camaro was probably the inventor of the cowl hood so it will be right at home on your car.

Cervini 3" cowl.

Everyone says the fit and finish on it is top notch, and it is by far the best looking hood out there.

Man i see these pics now of the ram air hood and i like it more and more. I think its the way the nose of it lines up with the slope of the front end. YOu can see it in the side pic of that black one.

i think with the spoiler you have to go cowl, it wont flow right IMO with that spoiler and a RAII hood, i like the RAII but with that spoiler the lines would be wrong.

Ahh, the wheel chair ramp hood... Make your Camaro wheel chair accessible.

I vote for the cowl, even though I think 4" is too big unless you need it.
Agreed - A low cowl is nice if you like the look, but the 4" and taller cowls look rediculous unless you HAVE to have it to gain clearance for something underneath.

I would go with any kind of cowl over the ram air...just does not look right on a Camaro. I actually prefer the stock RS hood over a ram air hood. Just looks funny, with no functional advantage over a cowl.

I saw a pic of the ram air form the front and realized there doesnt seem to be any rise in the middle. It appears to be stock or just a little above stock height which won't give me the clearance i want. I htink its gonna be the 4" cowl.
