Raised white letters vs. Blackwall tires

Ok everyone I need your opinion. Should I stick with the raised white letters or go with blackwalls. I am kind of partial to the white letters but I cant find any tires with a speed rating higher than T. Do you think my car will look ok without the white letters or not. I need some opinions.

heres a pic of my car now

I don't mind white lettering.

...with 15's I think it actually looks better with letters... breaks the massive amounts of tire up.

IMO white lettering is for cars before 1980. It looks great on 15" rims on a first or second gen, but thirdgens are a little too modern for it.

yea 15 inch wheels look nice w/ letters , my old 87 bird had white letters with 15 inch wheels, looked really good but i would never get white letters on my 16 inch iroc wheels, so i agree if u got 15's keep'em

White letter tires are dated and belong in the past.

I hate white letters But im biased cause i have to clean the blue protective stuff off them everyday. I specially hate Vogue The ones you always see on caddys with white stripe and little yellow stripe. But i work in ghetto area so i see alot of them. I really hate thick white walls that are old it takes lots of srubbing when there older tires.

Like others, I think that anything on 15" or smaller needs the raised white letters, otherwise it's just way too much rubber showing. People can say what they want about RWL looking dated... but they seem to forget that these cars are from that time period!!!!!!! Unless you're going to update to bigger wheels, you're going to be stuck in that "dated" look anyway, so you may as well do it right!

I wouldn't worry about the speed rating on the tires either. It's not like you spend extended periods of time at 150 mph.

The only acceptable white lettering on a tire is "M/T" and "HOOSIER"

I love the way white letters look on the 15" wheels. I'm getting them when I get new rubber (BFG Radial TAs) for my Z28.

I've had both, an 85 Z28 with raised white letter tires, and now an 87 Iroc-z with black walls.

They both look good, the choice is yours!

Definetly, if you've got 15's, go with the white letters. Just make sure you KEEP them white. Neglected white letters look like TRASH. Thats not what you want.

Hey oneloudchevy, thanks for the compliment. You ask if it is stock....if you're talking about the paint, no it is not. If your talking about the motor and drivetrain, then yes.

Its best to stay Third Gen Camaro and Firebird related.
Neither of those photos belong here.
