Finishing touches to the engine bay

Got these today. Hooker 2055s with the AIR tubes cut off. Got them from ACS with the y-pipe coated also. They look great and the install was a snap.

As you can see here. Also notice the March pulley and brackets along with the Summit chrome steering pump. This all finishes off the new Trick Flow heads and converted LT1 intake. What you can't see is the LT4 Hotcam inside. I have new flamed tall valve covers ordered to finish it off.

Notice in this picture I don't have my chrome alternator on yet. Well, when I went to put it on, I checked the throttle body clearance on the LT1. Just what I feared, the LT1 sits lower and the alt was in the way leaving no way to plug in the IAC. Solution-order a mid mount alternator from March. So aheads up to anyone thinking about the LT1 intake. You'll need a midmounted alternator.

Looks good, but it would have been nice if you painted the engine bay first.

Lookin good. I was looking through Summit the other day and noticed their chrome power steering pumps and wondered if anyone had them. It looks reallllyyy good.

I also just put on March billet pulleys, but my power steering pump looks so ugly. Maybe I will replace it with Summit chrome one eventually I like the way yours looks, especially with those brackets

Just a hint Chris. You have to modify the power steering line that screws into the pump itself. It's just a small mod. The stock line has a small nipple on it that has to be cut off in order for it to be used like a regular flare fitting on the Summit pump. I didn't test it yet, but I'm pretty sure it won't leak.

Thanks man. If I ever decided to delete my A/C, my power steering pump would be really exposed... so maybe sometime this summer I'll get that chrome one.

I forgot to say that exhaust looks sweeet!

Nice!

Even tho the 2055's look a bit on the smallish side.

Da-amn! How exactly can you get an LT-1 manifold to work? How do you "convert" it?

Thanks for the kind words. I tried to hook up the y-pipe today, but the end on the cat is crimped pretty good. So I have to get a pipe expander or a straight pipe to go in its place. Camaro05, the headers and y cost me like $600 from our sponsor ACS. I did have the AIR tubes cut off and the y-pipe coated, so that ran the price up a little. IROCtheRoad, check out www.lt1intake.com for all the info you would need for using the LT1 intake.
