Sounds good, provided they use Quality flim, 1 piece in the back, and provide a lifetime warranty

Yes thats what I was thinking I just wanted to get some feed back from the "gang" I had went there about a month ago and got a est. and a diffrent guy told me 130$ for all but my tint strip and I was in aw and knew he didn't understand all that I wanted, thats why I went back today and got a new estimate.

I also went and got a estimate for my body work/paint that I needed done 1600$ and thats for:
Left Fender-Painting, getting the dings out and striping the bottom
Bumper-Painting, striping
Hood- Painting, Dings

Sounds way to high for me. I'll deffintly look else where and that was at Bills Body Shop also here in Saint Peters Missouri

I got my 83 bird tinted with 3m window tint for $155 for the whole car. They used a one piece rear film and gave me a lifetime warranty, I live in springfield missouri.

my car has been tinted way to many times and the last and final time it was $260 for the tint. pricey but it's been on there for a long time now and no problems. i agree you should shop around but you need to do your homework as you can easily get burned.

i personally like titanium in my tint but that's just me.

i just had my windows tinted today. I went to the first place after they said they'd do it. They quoted me 80 for the rear window and in 1 piece . The guy tried it and he couldnt do it . He started to do it and told me he couldnt. SO i went down the street to a more expensive place and they did it in 5% , 1 piece and for 150. He said it was the hardest window he ever did, only bc i dont have defrosters, usually they use two pieces and put them together at the defroster line, but he had to d it in one piece . And it cam out great . I cant wait till i have the sides done in 5% too.

My tint cost $145 for the side windows and rear window. It was 15% film and it has a lifetime guarantee. They also did the rear window in one piece.

Wicked Stickers told me they would do it in one peice and that they had a new machine that not only shrinks it up and down but left and right as well.

just got mine done 2 days ago.. 15% all around and it was 276 dollars after tax. They had to remove my defrost lines because the old tint that was on there had baked too long onto it and they couldnt get all the glue off without removing them.....they DID however get the hatch in 1 piece along with a lifetime warrenty etc....Im happy

kandied you should look into getting one without the defrosters. Its wierd at first looking out the window and seeing it so clean . That was one problem that had when they did mine in 1 piece , But o well its done and looks good.

I paid $130 for 1 piece in the back, side windows, and tint strip on the windshield, lifetime warranty. you guys should really check out A&B window tinting if you have one in you're area.

Price is relevant to the area you live in. Cheaper where tinting shops are abundant (large cities generally), more expensive where they aren't (smaller cities obviously). Asking here really isn't going to give you a good idea of price since it varies widely across the nation...

If that's the cheapest estimate you've gooten for your area.. that's probably as low as it's getting. Just remember, the lowest bidder isn't always the best deal....

To add to the price variety, where I am is almost $300 for 5% all around (give or take $20 between the only 2, out of maybe 5, legit shops that do 'illegal' tint). Just my opinion though....

I have a rear glass w/o defrost, 15% tint, and int 3rd brake light if anyone is interested.

I can't stand my back window being foggy, so I got an older hatch with the defrost, and no third brake light to rattle and irritate me. :P

sure....what is the real concern between using one or two pieces for the back?

in all honesty a good job will last and not peel, discolor, etc. so it really wouldn't matter. however for our windows being as large as they are a 2 piece setup is so much easier for installation. now with that said only on a non-defroster optioned rear glass would a 2 piece be noticeable from the outside as well as inside. this causes a problem and main concern which is why the 2 piece complaint really came about. having defrosters in most cases the strips are thick enough that the human eye would never tell wether it's 2 or 1 piece on the back. having 2 pieces is actually more practicle as well in the application because you have less of an area to trap air or in otherwords cause bubbling, peeling, discolor, etc. defrosters also cause problems with single piece setups because over time air can get trapped in the tint as the strips wear out or even break/chip off the glass causing pockets which is why it isn't uncommon to see older tint jobs look the way they do. newer films help prevent this but it's still possible.

one main problem with 2 piece on any window is that no matter wether you have defrosters or not it is virtually impossible to not notice it from the inside....this is particularly evident with show cars and vehicles where the glass is up more often then down. so this was another reason why the 2 piece argument came into play.

in reality a 2 piece setup is really better in the long run and having a defroster window makes it virtually un noticed so long as it's done right, but for those with non-defroster setups the one piece really makes a difference in looks and appearance which is the same for show cars.

in the end it all comes down to preference but 2 pieces isn't necessarily bad.
