he asid it was for sale at the right price.... he said the heads were $8000, storker kit $5000, motor $18,000..
and yea from the outside you'd never know it wasnt much more than stock, let alone a 10 second car

sounds like a nice car and looks sharp too! that's alot of money for that type of power though...alot of people running more then that, myself included for alot less. now the $10,000 range isn't out of the question, good reason why the ls1 is such a great idea for good cheap power.
.BB's arent about all that tho its just being able to say you have a BB. They are freakin huge and it just looks cool and sounds deeper i love the sound. They do haul *** tho i know some1 with a all iron BB in a 70 chevelle runnin 12's and thats a heavy car. Not a ton done to it either does have nitros tho

18k Canadian is about 13k in the US. If only I had 13k to put down on anything I wanted!!!!!
I see an LS1, Sleeved and stroked to 427ci(depending on how much C5-R blocks are). Some new AFRs, LSX intake, and whatever is left over for brakes/suspension

If that thing is running 10s, it should be pretty easy to get underneath and see something other than a 10 bolt rear, and also to see a 6 point bar in the car. Without both of those, it's probably safe to say the guy is a typical car-dealing story teller.
guys around here running that with 10 bolt rears....however not long i'm sure.

as far as the ls1 described above, that would be a hell of alot more then 13,000 for that. one thing that isn't nice about ls1's is the upgrade price. sure you can get into them cheap but the parts are expensive right now. however when they drop to what a sbc is watch out!
as far as the race block, last one my buddy bought was 7,000 for the block.

I'm gonna have to agree, I bet there isn't a 600HP engine sittnig underneath there, unless of course he never raced it.....

but it does seem very unlikly that someone would build a car capable of that, and not cage it. Of course that could be why it is for sale. he built it, got kicked off the track, and didn't want to deal with driving a car with a cage or roll bar. Thread Starter

it does have a 12bolt in the rear, and the suspension is mainly spohn parts from what i could see looking up in under...
and for the motor he might have meant 18K altogether maybe? cant see a block being that much

I'd like to see an LS1 have 700+ lb's of torque without some FI. Thats the beauty of the big block. Not to say you have one, its the monstrous amount of torque they throw out.

Yeah, probably a story teller... I've heard so many car stories... I once looked at a Firebird Formula 305... I looked under the hood, everything looked stock... guy tried to tell me he bought it brand new, that it was 100% original with no modifications, and that it had a 350, with 350 hp. Ummm... pretty sure it never came from the factory like that... Sometimes people like to tell alot of stories about what they've done to their car, when in fact very little of it is true. Buyer beware I suppose...

Ran low 11's in a 3400 lb car before pulling it. Used to spin it up to 8500 rpm
everything was checked out and was fine.

Was up at Carlisle for the all GM and Camaro nationals.
Nice show with some nice cars. A guy had a 92 1LE Z28 selling for 12.5K. Looked stock white with black heritage stripes. He had a minnie rammed 383 with similar exhaust like the BBC camaro on this post.(mufflex?) He said he was running 11.70's on his stock wheels. Suspension mods and 3000 stall or so, no cage. Sounded awesome. Dont know if was BS or not but wouldnt doubt it. I think a big small block with a minnie ram is hard to beat. Probably cheaper than BB and lighter and fitment is better in our cars. Its cool to have BBC but think a big small block is best. Still can make good power as big block.
They was a 2002 or whatever SS camaro at the show with one of these motors. Wanted $112,000 for the car.
Dyno sheet had close to 600 horsepower naturally aspirated. Not quite the insane torque as the big block but it was over 500 or so lb ft. One heck of a motor though.:hail:
