I plan that for my vert. That with some nicely tinted windows would look nice.

IROC5796, I did a photoshop of both pillars being black. I'm kinda torn as to wheter it works or not. I'm just not sure if upclose the line between black and body color would look good. I wouldn't do it with the wraparound spoiler that's on this car... i chose it for the photoshop because my T/A is going to be the same pewter metallic color.

With the rear sailpanels painted it looks like a ghetto-fab-i-want-to-drive-a-caddy-with-a-vinyl-top-but-this-is-my-only-car. Yikes, not my thing.

Wow,

that actually looks really good. I never would of thought painting the sail panel would end up so clean.

Probably works better on a camaro then a bird though, cause of the body lines. It really gives your car a sort of import look, which could be good or bad. Just reminded me of a 300z.

I guess im not the first person to have thought of this, lol. I think it looks pretty good on a camaro, the white and black remind me of the 93 z28 when it first came out.

Shaneo- You did a quality job on that.

But there is one thing i am noticing, It doesnt seem to follow the lines of the car too well........like the crease in the rear quarter looks about a half inch or so below the black paint.........

anyway, you did a very nice job doing what you did.

ps- lose the mudflaps lol:lala:

Tobias05 Thanks, I appreciate that! I'm still working on getting those pics resized, but here's a profile shot of the car for now.

Jgolden314 You are absolutely correct. I'll explain why I drew the line where I did, but it will make no sense unless you can see the pictures! So, I'll have them up shortly (takes time when you're partaking in canada day celebrations at the same time )

Wonder what the mirrors would look like in black to match the windshield frame?

If I were to guess why you painted were you did, I'd guess it's so that it follows the visual lines of the car, and not the physical lines. The paint stops about an inch above the crease in the fender, but as seen in the side shot, it clearly splits the visual line between the fender and the b pillar.

....again, nice job!:hail:

OK, I finally got some new pictures. I think i have enough here from every angle so that you can get a better idea. I had a bunch of closeups too, but somehow I suspect I'm gonna burn through my bandwidth with these pictures as it is LOL!

IIf I still have bandwidth, then I'll post those ones too

http://www.shaneo.ca/cars/z28/pictures1.html

Abubaca - yeah, you are totally right. There really is no physical line on the car to follow. Firebirds have a nice crease, or fold or whatever, but not camaros'. I tried it a bunch of different ways using black electrical tape first, to see what would look best. The way I have it now, the paint gradually meets up with the glass.

iansane, APACHE JOHN - hmmmm....... mirrors, maybe I could see. Not sure about the spoiler though.

nick418, 85maroz28 - thanks guys. I appreciate that.

irocbarry - you need some photoediting software to resize your pictures. Either Adobe Photoshop (expensive), or JASC Paint Shop Pro, which is cheap, and I believe they also have a demo avaialble on their homepage www.jasc.com

My windshield frame is painted semi gloss black. My car is white. I think it looks really good(if you ignore the fact that I didnt prep it and used a rattle can and now its flaking off) The semi gloss to me looks a lot better than if it were gloss. I'm sure I have pics on my website, but I'm too lazy to look. www.cogshighperformance.com

I think the mirrors would look absolutely kille with black paint.........and the blisters would look great black.

I see what you're talking about with the visual lines, and is really distinguisable from the side.

I think the mirrors would look great black. Blister don't look quite right unless they're either hood color, or part of a stripe. IMHO

Iroc louvers...now that would look cool.

Hey, will you stop bastardizing my car LOL!!

Actually, I have to admit, when I said the mirrors might look ok painted black, I was only half serious when I said it. Now that I see a picture and can visualize in my head, i guess it doesn't look half bad

I'm with Abucaca though, the blisters are gonna stay white!!

Hey "theSteve", thanks. I checked out your website too. Nice setup!

A black set of GTA rims would look the best on the car and that would be my only change because I really like that look alot.
