Engine RUNS!!! Now to show her off!
OK, it's been "off the road" for almost 3 months.
I installed the SLP headers, and a ZZ4 cam, and had some minor headwork done. And on top of that, TONS of new OE parts and TONS of cleaning, media blasting, and painting. I also bought some Russells wire looms, and a polished TPI bolt kit.
....she ran tonight for the first time since all that work!!!
here are some pics!

Better be nice, I know where they are hosted.
I am so glad we got that thing running. Can't wait to get it tuned and running.
And I'll tell ya firsthand. It is purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdy!

The color of the TPI and the accessory brackets is Plastikote cast iron grey. The AC delete pulley, heads and manifold are Plastikote aluminum, and the water pump and VC's are Ford red. Yeah, yeah, I know, but it matched the car.
I haven't really driven it yet, but I'll let you know!
As far as the chip, all the research I've done says that the ZZ4 cam should run fine with the factory computer. That being said, I'm giving up a LOT of power without a custome tune. I'm gonna bolt up a few more mods here in the near future and then I'm gonna get the chip burnt.

Did I say Iron? ...because they ARE aluminum, DUH!
OK, not really
While the paint looks REALLY good, there is no mistaking them up close. No doubt they're Iron.

I had a couple guys ask if the heads on my 305 were aluminum because they were unpainted. Just too much orange for me if I did paint them. Thread Starter

She's got 164,000...or pretty close.
Interior is brand new. Paint is about 7 years old if I had to guess. I've had the car for 6 years.

In that second picture, you can't really see any of the rear end, all you can see is that chicks....DOH! ...that's what you meant!

How you got your heater hoses runnin there. Did you just extend them a lil bit to get it out of the way. Also did you get the 1 3/4 header if so have any problems with the steering shaft?

....I'm gonna keep the heat, at least for now!
As for the headers, yeah, I had a little problem with the column. I very gently put a VERY small dent in the primary. I did it with a block of wood, so there's no real dent, only a flat spot. You can hardly notice. ( I did it BEFORE coating!!!!!!)I also had to unhook the column at the steering box to get it to drop in. That was pretty easy. I also had to bend some brake lines outta the way. I have to say that I love the headers, but SLP coulda done a better job with the fit. They stick out pretty far, but I have no problems with my plugs or wires. I got 5 plugs with a regular SP socket, and a sixth with a crescent wrench and the SP socket. (ratcher wouldn't fit). For the other 2 I had to grind flat spots on a regular 1/2" drive long socket, and use a crescent wrench. It's a LOT easier now than when it was stock, of course I don't have AC or smog.

I "think" so.
I'd highly recommend getting them coated after you've test fitted them. I scratched mine to hello test fitting them. Once they were coated, they slipped in first try with no scratches since I had the engine ready, and knew how they'd fit in.
