posted a little while back on the subject, but got no real responses
anybody have any pics of a thirdgen (camaro preferabbly) with an L88 hood? there's a company (can't recall their name) that makes camaro hoods with L88 hood scoops. i emailed them and was promised a pic soon, but that was probably 2 months ago.
so does anybody have a pic? i'm dying to see how it looks
a little history for those who don't know. L88 hoods came on L88 corvettes. there were only 216 produced (from '67-'69). they were GM rated at around 435hp, which was 5hp less than the "top model" corvette, so not many people bought them. turns out they were more like 600hp, 600 lbs/tqe and ran mid 11's stock! and you can own one of these monsters for a measely $900,000 (normal price for one in a barret-jackson auto auction)
anyway, enough of a history lesson...i love this hood more than any other model, but i need more pics before i decide to buy. i can't quite decide how i like it on a 3rd gen
edit: found the link to a site that sells them.

also found 2 pics that were floating around, that i had found earlier. i can't find anybody with better pics though, or the owner of these cars. i need more pics!

Those are possibly the worst pictures I've ever seen :-/
You mentioned those hoods had two scoops or whatever? Hard to tell, from the pictures..
we have a 1970 camaro, with a hood like that, except it has one little dip/scoop area.. it looks a LOT better than any cowl hood, I must say.
here's a picture to show that the hoods above look closer to.. you can see the cowl area goes down, then up again.. hard to explain.

Had that hood on my 2nd gen too. I thought it looked nice on it as it flows well with the nose of the car. On a thirdgen though - Im not so sure..
Here are a couple more shots showing the scoop. This is my old deep candy green 2nd gen:

thats their purpose. at least functional l88 hoods extract heat. we have one on the corvette (1970) and it fits sooooo perfect. couldnt have a better hood on that car and i wanted to get one on the camaro until i saw how it looked.....ugh doesnt flow with the thridgen at all. still one badass hood!!!
