aka my garage, haha. Me and my grandpa have just finished up 3 days of sanding, primering, and painting. Here's the finished pics, she still needs a few small things put back on like taillights and misc. interior pieces.

Lighting is bad, but u get the idea.

I get mine out of the paint shop Thursday. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve except it's actually just December 23rd!

I hate the anticipation.

haha its actually worse seeing it going from looking like crap, to a really nice looking daily driver IMHO. Its not show worthy but i almost cried when i came home from soccer today, it was sitting in the driveway all painted and all the tape and paper removed.

...I did about 5% of the work, Gramps 95%. He was a little hard on himself about it since he hadn't painted a car in a good 20 years or so. I was thrilled to death.

Tomorrow I'll throw the stuff back on it and drive it around town, can't wait for the looks

I'm not sure about the code number, I'll have to go and see if its still here.

As for the name, its "Viper Red".

Gook luck, its a pretty cool color, i think it might even glow in the dark....

That looks awesome!!! I'm planning on painting mine this winter with the help of my dad. He just got done painting his 69 Camaro last summer. Jade Stone! it's sweet, so i'm not worried about the paint job looking good. Also it'll be painted in a 20'x20' garage with plenty of space to move in. It's nice having family/friends that can do stuff like that. And it's cool because you'll always remember them for it!

Are you going to wet sand and buff it?

It will get rid of the orange peel and take the paint job to the next level.

yes i have to agree give gramps a big hug that is an awsome job and nice to see you appreciate him and give him the credit. good job

As for you inner wells just spray em with some black paint or undercoating forget the thinnner idea.

let the car cure a good while some before washing or waxing. only water rinses every day to remove dust. don;t forget the wetsanding and buffing in a few days. what type of paint did he use was it a base clear? or shot all in one.

looks good take care of it.

Carlover1, it was originally a maroonish deep red.

It is a single stage paint, I would like to wetsand and buff it in the near distant future.

I would like it to eventually shine something like 84customs....but in red, we've all seen that moving black mirror.

I've heard the term "orange peel" over and over again, but what's the proper definition? Kinda a paint/appearance noob.

...now to figure out why my left turnsignal doesn't work now

Orange peel is where the surface of your paint looks like the surface of an orange. You then wetsand it to get rid of the orange peel giving it that smooth showroom shine. Awesome job on the car.

There's nothing like seeing an SC come to life. Everyone wants a Camaro with ground effects, but the sport coupes turn the heads when they're done right. Well, maybe I'm just imagining things.

As for RS's.... well I just joined that club, too. I just brought home a 92 RS.

im with you on that one. theres not many people that do much to the sport coupes. because of the lack of power and appearance. but us sport coupe guys can take care of that :lala:

forgive me for saying this but sometimes i like seeing sport coupes around than irocs.

Its just there's no bells and whistles behind it. Lets see, my sc has....wait, a rear defroster. Thats it. A plain camaro. Thats all i wanted when i went shopping for a 3rd gen. An 87 sc, w/ a factory v8 and a straight body was what i was after, and i got it. I'm only 18, i don't need power this, power that. I've got 4th gen cloth seats and a 115MPH speedo. There's the extent of my options. Now its got some paint... what more could i need?

How about some power now?

<-Insert comment about ditching boat ancher LG4 for a 350HO I'm ordering this Saturday->
