Rally stripes or not???? (PS pics)

OK, most of you know my car, if not, it's an 89 Iroc. Red with gold accents. No body modifications to speak of.

I'm thinking of putting black rally stripes on the hood and rear decklid. (like normal).

What do you guys think? Would it look weird with Iroc pinstripes?

I don't imagine it would go well at all with the pinstripe, but heh, do what you like...

if you did that, i'd outline the black stripes in gold.

I can picture it, but i'm not sure if it'd be too busy or not.

My initial thoughts are that it will be too busy....

...I'd have no problems removing the pins, except that the guy who had the car repainted before me taped over the pins, so there's a ridge of paint built up against the pintripes. It's almost not even noticeable with the pinstripes on, but it's pretty obvious if you take 'em off.

I'm a fan of gold stripes on a dark green car (like the heratage camaros)
but i don't know about the red.. I think it would clash too much..

I would keep it like it is..

No gold rally stripes. Toooooooo much gold. I do like the gold and green though.

I have some ideas that I really like for when I do get a complete paint job, but for now, i agree that leaving alone is the best bet.

I'm not a fan but that may be just because they don't belong. Just like I don't like the z28 high rise spoiler on irocs and I think my mind just makes me not like it due to the fact its not supposed to be there, anyone know what I mean?

Well, I'm not gonna do stripes.

I really like 'em in general, but I agree they just don't fit the "stock" look.

My problem is that I LOVE the stock look, but want to do something a little different. I guess the two just don't mix!!!

personally I like doing lots of little detail changes so that 99% of people don't notice a change, they look at it and go " I passed one just like it the other day" and you can just smile and go "oh really"

I can't tell you how many times I come up with cool idea that just don't belong on my car.

I do need another car to do a bunch of cool appearance mods to!
