Don't rush it. Get it done right and you'll be happier in the end when nothing breaks.

I've been seriously considering this engine for my RS. What did it run you?

The engine alone ran me around 2700$, i bought it from summit and since i live in ohio i had to pay tax.
(A lot of money for me being 18)

that doesn't include every other nit picking detail i had to buy either, but i got a steal off my neighbor: 50 bucks for the 4160 and dizzy... we've spent at the most 100 bucks to rebuild them, so i saved some money there.

I've just got to get the wiring straightened out, and the shift kit in the tranny... then, then, it should be out of the garage....

But, the way i look at things. I spend 1300$ for the car, me and my grandpa painted it for free, and now i have a 3500$ engine in it.

....A brand new car, almost, for under 5k... how many ppl can say that?

thanks guys,
brandon

How much HP do you estamate to be making with this setup? As for traction a roll would be a good idea seeing as how 2 gear burn outs just flooring it ins't a good thing in a race .

Well the book says 330, but i'll be happy w/ anything over 275 at the rear wheels...

... should be plenty of power to get some kills on the street around here... assuming i can get traction.

Vortec,
...I see we're on different coasts then huh?

Beware! I got a 'chrome flashy' one from Schucks a year or so ago and developed a leak at the housing. I thought that the o-ring wasn't sealing so I put a gasket on it but it still leaked. After pulling it, I found that the housing base was warped about 2mm! Cheap *** made in Taiwan crap!
