Design for my new ram air 1 hood
I want opinions on this. Is for my 88 GTA, & is gona be black & dark gold.
Does it look to much like a Power ranger? I dont want kids to go "look mom there goes the black ranger!" every time I pass by.
Its not final, just going trough Ideas & this one is the one that I like the most. But I need to see reactions before I go ahead with it.

Maybe its because you said the thing about the power rangers but that seriously looks like a part of theyre zords the original though not all the new spin off peices of crap
I'm lovin' the colors! Maybe it would look less "zordish" if the silver stripes didn't go horizontally to the edge, but it just kept going down the center to the bottom of the nostrils instead. I think that would look great.

Dude I dont know where people are getting power rangers from.
It looks like the decepticon symbol from Transofrmers. I like if but the car better look as nice as the hood or you defeat the purpose.

why do all of you know this power rangers stuff? I never heard of a zord before.... just curious, how old are u guys posting cause I'm 24 and am totally out of the loop here
Anyway, i think it looks pretty cool. It might look better if you just did the outline though and dropped the pieces that go horizontally across the nostrils. Do you plan any outlining stripes elsewhere on the car?

OK there are a few questions & Ill trie to answer them all. First Im 29 but I have 2 boys so there are qite a few PR toys laying around in my house. (maby uncontiously I copied one of my kids toys, Ill go check them out later.)
Now the car is a stock 88 GTA other than the hood, wich is on my back porch with a fiberglass wraparound wing waiting to be painted. & later Ill like to ad the new SLP rims painted dark gold just like the gta rims. And since Im painting the hole car Im adint stripes on the roof and they will die on the spoiler. Hopefuly Ill get the paint done in the next few months.
As for the car, is pretty much mint except for a few hiden rust spots & *** knows whats under the ground effects but all of that witll be taken care of when painted.

I LOVE that hood and I LOVE the black with gold, but I have to be honest and say that I'm not a big fan of the silver pen stripe thrown in the mix. In my opinion it kinda clashes a lil. Maybe if the pen stripe was black I might be more fond of it. But, that's just my opinion, different stokes for different folks. MY

If you ditch the two stripes running across the hood, behind the scoops it'll clean it up a lot. The spoiler stripe has a rounder , more conventional look TO ME. The hood stripes DO have a kind of evil droid look to them. Just MHO.Seems the front of the stripe started in some galaxy far, far away and ended herfe on earth in the 80's.

That w looking thing in the front is the bird, is just a little abstract. The thing is that I want a bird but I dont think those old school hood birds fit on the body design of 3rd gen firebirds, they are to blocky. Plus Ive always liked the graphics of the early 70's Trans Am's, the ones were there was a smaller bird on front of the hood and afther came the stripe that went all the way to the back and died on the trunck. & I tried mixing that design witn the new tripes form the ram air 2. Personaly I love how my desing came out & I think it would look killer on the car, but after looking at it for a while I started to see the toysh side of it. Like some people has stated here it looks kind of galaxish looking and I saw Power Rangers in it, & some people eaven saw Transformers. But I guess thats allright I just didnt want to look like I stold the desing from something in spesific. So what Ill do is that Im going to hang it in my room, leave a copy in my car, & one at the ofice, Im going to look at it for a couple of weeks & if I still think it looks cool by then Ill go ahead with it. & if I do Ill post some pic so that you guys can tell me what you think.

I love the paint scheme idea and the stripe. I dont like the little "W" design you added though. Other wise the stripe rocks. It reminds me of the 96-98 Hurst/Lingenfelter Firebirds.
Also I have the Gold SLP Hawk rims on my 94 GT and 99 and love them. IMO they are a bit too skinny for a thirdgen. I think Id actually go w/ the GTA's, or maybe the 91/92 Ronal Firehawk style accented w/ gold.
For the bird on the front, I would only use a stock style gold bird decal on the front bumper cover.

Yes, the front w object is suposed to be a bird. And the SLP rims that I was talking about were the new ones for our cars the ones that look like the Corvette ones. I think that they would look cool on gold.

Actually, that one is red, thats just a bad pic. That was before Bats changed over to Chevy power too, lol (really... in 1989, the car had a 396!)

Adam you CPW!!!
I think the black and gold would look sweet, assuming the rest of the car matched. I say go for it.

That looks good! Is there any way we could see what it would look like on the car?
