My 1983 Trans Am is back after 4 long weeks (Many Pictures)
Hey everyone,
I took my car down to Mexico to get painted. It is finally back after 4 weeks!
The pulled my frame (Wrecked in front by previous owner), Aligned my hatch, painted the door jambs and around the engine bay, and painted the door handles, locks, and all the black trim!!!
Before...

And After!

Awesome!
I meant to reply to your post in the 3rd gen LJ community when you posted your pics but I got distracted looking at this board, and there she was again.

Thanks for your comments everyone!!!
I took it down to Mexico because the paint quality is much much better and the cost was alot cheaper!
I painted the bottom black because it just looks awesome.
I do have all of the original decals for it. I'm going to hold off on putting them on for awhile because the paint shop to me to do so.
The car will get lowered and I have a set of GTA wheels for it.
I just love how it looks now. It is a night and day differance. It feels great driving down the road now knowing the car looks awesome.

I may need to do some body work on my 82 T/A to take care of a few bubbles forming near the rear driver's side. Any words of wisdom?

If only my car could get painted in Mexico... Darn EPA ruined everything... took all of the good paint supplies, took all of the good cleaning agents from the machine shops... Who'd have thought that we'd have to go to Mexico to clean up and paint our cars.

Nice job man. It should look killer with the GTA's pulling together the look with the black along the bottom.

where are your side marker lights? and WHY must you put GTA wheels on there? nice shiney chrome or polished rims will just make that beautiful paint job look even BETTER!

82- Your 83 looks ABSOLUTELY,POSITIVELY Gorgous!!! It will look awesome with the crosslaced. When are you putting those on? The decals will look sweet. Are they the venitian blind and black accent decals? Any other plans for the drivetrain/powertrain? I love the silver. Not that it was ever a frog, but your frog is now a prince.
Kudos. Looking great.

Daytona T/A: Those were the only good wheels I could afford, and plus I had to piece them together from a junkyard.
BTW I love your car. I have a soft spot for those '83 Daytona's! I wouldn't mind adding one to the collection one day.
Thanks! Hopefully the wheels are going on soon.
The decals are the standard black ones just like the car came with originally.
The drivetrain will be getting an upgrade in some form soon hopefully. The originals will be set aside. Whats bad about the engine now is that it leaks so much oil that I have to wipe off the whole back of my car after driving on the freeway. It leaves puddles of oil a day. The transmission grinds into 3rd and 4th so that means the synchros are probably dead. It performs surprisingly great for an LG4 though.

I bought a complete set of rims for an 85-90 firebird over the summer for only $40. Three of them came with caps. Would anyone have one that they would be willing to sell me?
