Bought a nice yet cheap cover at Wallmart for my Z28 for like $30.00. The car sits in the Garage and the cover fits well.

My concern is I had the front end repainted and I do NOT want any flaws in the paint. Will a cover make any thin abrasions in the paint? I don't wanna cause more trouble to my car then whats its worth. It does pull snug around the front air dam...

Anyone an expert with car covers?

How recently was the car painted? If it's been more than 3 weeks, you shouldnt have any problems aside from possbile scratching if something gets stuck between the cover and the car and starts to rub.

If you keep a good coat of wax on the car and it's been more than 3 weeks, you shouldn't have any problems.

 

I found 84customZ28's plight with his car cover and tarp quite helpful and informative in protecting my own car.

Does your car cover do this?

One thing after another....the Z28 get's damaged again

 

I bought a good quality "Stormguard" fabric cover over fifteen years ago and still use it today with no problems with scratches.
Now I said a good QUALITY cover and not a $30 one size fits all from a chain store.
