some pics
Thats hardcore... I've seen pics of a car with almost the exact same setup... and it even looked like the same shop except it was from behind the car after it was finished... and if I recall the car was blue and instead of slicks it had huge MT Sportsman I tires

That white Formula in the background is gonna be one Bad ride when they complete it
It has 10 point cage,
T-56
all the necessary suspension upgrades
And what looks like mini-rammed/Brodix head small block
With a turbo/intercooler being installed!
Anyone know the owner?
Later

yeah it's been there for a long time.... the one pictured above is definately one to watch out for. i look forward to seeing them both finished though.
they have 4 others that are over at the other buildings. i wish they had more of their cars there but what can you do.
now only if they knew how to tune our cars without dfi.

Kandied Do you have any pictures of where your roll bar in your old 91 welded in. I found some1 that can make me a custon moly roll bar and cant decide how i want it to hook up. It def needs to be wider in the back and mount on a frame rail somewhere and not in the middle above the tank. I started tearing my car apart to get the engine ready and decided I want a roll bar also buying racing seats dont know if i need them now so they can fit the door bars around them.

i don't know about that but thank you..... if you are refering to the pic above that is not my car so please don't misunderstand. just something i wanted to share with everyone.
as far as the cage, it's a pretty crude pic i know but it shows the setup the best. i left it all stock and took it to the builder. they did what they needed, i just gave them a little guidance. turned out excellent and works even better.
i do not race, i needed it because my frame (if you want to call it that) was twisting. i had it built to stop the car from twisting and it did exactly that. i'm very happy with it. my 60's also improved, slightly but improved.

Jeff,
I remeber you had some nice 4th gen seats before you put the racing seats in. What made you go to the latter? Also after it was all said and done, which did you prefer to sit in while driving?

Im sure the guy that is going to do mine will know what to do he has built a few race cars and tractor pullers. Just want some more input so i dont have him put it in then find things dont fit.

actually they are corbeau trs leather and they are alot more then $800 for the pair. i'm selling them right now for $850 for the pair, if you search real hard you can find them around $1,000 off the net with free shipping. i bought mine here in michigan where i could actually sit and feel them. would never buy expensive seats over the net without testing them.
i bought them because the 4thgen camaro seats are nice looking but aren't comfortable, the 4thgen ta seats are much more comfortable but they look terrible in a camaro. i wanted sparco but at $1500 for the leather optioned versions it was more then i wanted to spend so i bought the corbeaus which were only $1,100 and i was quite happy. the leather is a bit tough but i'm sure someone whom used the car would break it in, reguardless they hold you in the seat and the sidebolsters aren't so large that it's difficult to get in the car. the trs is a great seat however i would only get the corbeaus in leather option as their cloth material is rather cheap in comparison to some other seat companies. you could always get cloth and have them recovered in the problem areas which aren't many. probably be cheaper then buying leather new outright from them and then you could custom color.

Ahh ok the black leather trs's dont have the emblem.

Why were they more then this?
List Price: $320 per seat (Cloth) / $539 (Black Leather) / $368 Wide Version

can you add? just do the math 539x2...plus taxes and some places charge shipping, i believe i had a $30 stocking fee or some sort.
i said i paid $1,100 which is a rough price without nickel/diming it and that's what the site says their's costs. add it up. so before you accuse me of trying to sell something for more then what it costs or assume i paid more then i should think a bit more. if i paid $1,100 at min which i did and barely used them $850 for them isn't too bad.

well the sparco name is advertised more but beyond that the reclining mechanism as well as their frames are much better as far as material and make. they use a memory foam in their seats which some people like but although they look nicer they aren't any more comfortable.
the corbeau trs is very comfortable and looks nice in leather, the cr1's aren't too bad but the cloth options just look a little cheap.

if these little problems aren't a concern then go for it, i do think the cloth are more comfortable until the leather is broken in although they aren't as supportive. it's a give and take..
I dont really know about how there cloth will hold i never seen it in person so you think the leather will hold up longer? I hate when leather starts cracking but i wont be drivin it too much. 1 more thing did you buy the brackets from corbeau with the seats.

yes i did but i had to modify them for my needs so i'm keeping them.
corbeau makes the cheapest seat brackets, i'd buy their 4thgens though as the 3rdgen units are a bit to tall. as far as the material everyone has their opinions... having them in front of me though i just couldn't shake the thought out of my head as the corbeau cloth was pretty cheap to me. however they may be fine, i've seen them after a years use though even in show cars and the colors not only fade fast but it stretches easy... just wasn't an option for me. now as far as comfort though the cloth i think are slightly more comfortable as their leather is stiff. i haven't used mine enough to break them in though.
