Correct Screaming Chicken

I need some info on the correct hood bird decal used on 85 and up Trans Am or GTA. Mine is an 85 (in case they were different for other years). I need to know which direction the head faced; Ive seen them face both directions (it is not the formula style hood). If you have the hood bird, I would appreciate any pics you have. Im also not interested in the 2nd gen style bird. Thanks.

Here is a reproduction.

The originals had the bird on a clear backing which you could see over time as the clear faded, mine has the outline only. The bird should face to the left.

Yeah... that car is certainly one of the cleaniest I've seen. VERY nice. Black paint, when spotless, is unbeatable.

Thanks for the pics and info//// 85TA WS6, Your car looks like my car's twin (before I hacked it up), even the recaro seats. I had the same paint colors as the faded car you showed (lower gold, rest of car dark metalic brown). Onlly difference is I had the overhead console and crosslace wheels. Did you get teh recaros recovered or are they origianl covers, I need mine recovered.

Yes they are, the style (Camel & Graphite Pallex cloth) was available only in 85 and 86 as an option.

You dont see many left, Im gonna keep her

The seats were avaialble with different fabrics as follows:

1981 Trans Am Nascar Pace Car
1982 Recaro T/A
1983 Recaro T/A
1983 25th Anniversary of Daytona Pace Car
1984 Recaro T/A
1984 15th Anniversary T/A

Thanks for asking

Your welcome....

Intersesting...if your car has the crosslace wheels (non WS6) it would be the first Recaro option (85 86) I have seen that did not have the 16" rims. Extremely Rare !

The faded one was owned by a member here, he sold it, it was the first Power Recaro seat I have seen, it was an option that even Pontiac said was not available but has been proven.

I had a small reapair done on the backrest side bolster, I will let you guess what side (left or right)

One more thing, If you see the head facing right, its probably one of Chuckies. Its a long story, if you have time for some heavy reading go here:

Chuck

Here is an oldie for ya Nick.

This is a new one, lighting was bad though.

OMG... that thread with "Chuck" is horrible.

He's never going to make any money performing customer service like that! What an ***!

I'll never buy from him. Thanks for pointing that out.

wow i read that thread too. I cant believe someone or anyone could ever deal with a customer service problem in that manner. He gets on the site and acuses and criticizes the members on here expressing their negative experience with his company. Instead of trying to solve, or at least dig out of his hole, he yells with derogatory comments. Such a horrible way to do business and i honestly hope he is no longer in practice. He would never see the green of my money.

As a business owner myself, i am surprised how some of these companies have handled situations on these boards (chuck, acs, ect)

newho, i believe the stickers were from 85 - 87 and didnt have the outline design? but the different backing, i believe

Awesome car! I have a soft spot for the 85-86's! Especially if they came with Recaros! Although I have to ask why didn't you put the stripes back on?

Yeah mine has the WS6 option....16" wheels.....Unfortunately I took every thing off and sold it before I knew what I had, even the disc brake rear and tuned port injection.....Had a great idea on making a race car.....still got the stupid thing too.
