Had a show today..
Yep febuary in colorado, its 65 degrees out and i had heard about a show for an autozone opening so i went out. Turns out the info had gotten lost somewhere along the way and when i got it it was open to all cars. I showed up and theres some vw's well it was a volkswagen show, i "unofficially" took best in show since i didnt have a entry number for people to vote for, yet still had the most votes, but since it was vw's i only got a gift card and recognition, still cool though!!
Got a pic, all the rest of the little vdubs where behind where i was standing,
One question, should i cut my "hood prop" down to a little lower so the hood sits lower or leave it, its gloss black so it doesnt look bad!
Still loosing some pic quality when i upload these. HUh

he's got a fiberglass hood and it could possibly crack by putting force on the hood with the struts, specially if they are brand new. all though i do suggest some older ones that won't hold up a steel hood.

Thanks guys, the struts put alot of stress on the hood and with what i paid for the hood and paint theres no way i wanna risk cracking it. Gm doesnt have anything listed for the glass hood struts and i'm not gonna pay the 90 somethign dollars teh place that has em sells them for, the pipe is temporary till i get something made up for it, plus i like the hood to sit kind alow at shows i think it gives a more custom appearance. I've gone junkyarding a ton and all the ones i find are too weak or to strong.
I have narrowed my wheel choice down today though, three wheels i am looking for to get after my interior is done,
Boze stingers
american racing rebels
Foose lusso's

I got new ones from autozone...I think they ran me 40 bucks for both, yet it takes some pressure to get the hood down, but if you space your hands out and apply even pressure, there's hardly a bow in the hood when you pull down (btw my hood is somehwere around 30lbs IIRC)

car looks great, can't wait till it get's nice around here so i can get mine out and hit some local shows. As for the hood struts....mine finally pooped out and will not hold my SS hood up at all....at the prop rod is getting old. I think a $90 invest will be a good idea...no more prop rod...and no more worries, I'm breaking down and buying a set

Yea 84 we'll see how long it takes for the prop to get old, i wanna make up something nice looking and chrome it but havent had time yet.
Steve, the more i look at teh fooses the more i dont care for em, the rebels are a fwd wheel and the bozes are way outta my budget right now, i posted what i am looking at to hold me off till i can afford the boze's under "looked at boze wheels today" or something like that
