15 inch tire size?

My question: What sizes tires to get? I know it's been asked before, but I need to know. I have 15x8 (rear), Currently I have 235/60. All the mags say I can run 265/50 in the rear. Will this be too short. The specs on most tires show 265/50 almost 1/2 inch shorter than my 235/60. My tires now seem a little on the short side, those with 265/50 did you lower your car at all.

When I mean rub I have to have more than 2 people in the car and I have to hit a bump pretty hard. But with the car overloaded 4-5people and hard acceleration they will rub too. But just me and one other person they don’t rub unless I hit a bump pretty hard. Sorry I didn't clerify when they rub.

I think it's 4" back spacing but not sure. My ride height is stock even though it doesn't look it.
The current tire does appear to look short and too narrow. I am not looking for a massive tire. I really don't want too much tire sticking out.

if you don't want too big, but bigger than your running, i would look into a 255/60/15. shouldn't have any issues with rubbing and it will fill the fender well abit better. it's about 27" tall, maybe a little shorter. i think you'll like that size alot, and shouldn't knock your speedo off much at all. probably 3-5% slower than stock. it's also about an inch wider than your current tire. i run a big tire cause i have 4.10 gears and i want the roll-out of the larger tire for higher mph on the drag strip.

I'm running 245/60/15's with no issues at all and plenty of clearance so I would imagine 255's wouldnt' be a problem either

the 245's look pretty darn good and they make it easier to jack the car up than the 235's did (the small difference is height just happens to be the base height of my floor jack)
