What Has Happened to this place

Is it me or are there a bunch of "this is different so it must be cool" things happening.

Why is it that because someone tries something different whether it look like total crap or not people chime in saying "hey that's cool, at least it's different"

different does not equal tasteful

Either more and more retards are buying 3rd Gens now or this site has gone so soft that you can't voice your opinion without threats of you being mean. Guess what, if something looks like crap, if it's not said here before the monstrosity is finished, the real world won't hold back either.

Just my rant.

I think people are afraid of saying something because others, not knowing how to say it, get reprimanded for posting negative criticism.

Don't you get tired of looking at 'Look how cool my Camaro is, it looks exactly like stock!' posts? I know I do. When things are done different and taken above and beyond stock it can be very cool. Restoring a car to stock is ok, I guess, but why reject things that are different just because they are?

When criticizing something different it's one thing to say "Dude you're such a ****ing ricemonkey ****** lol" than "It's not really my thing, you could improve it by doing x" The first is what the mods hate the second is constructive criticism without being aggressive and sounding angry. Pretty simple concept and no cursing or accusations are involved.

Remember, when making a post think of how you would feel if you were reading something. If you notice you're personally attacking someone and their family then tone it down a little and everyone will hold hands smile and be happy. It's just a matter of respect.

I don't try to come off as mean, sometimes it just comes out that way, but I always try to be constructive. Honesty is the best policy.

(unless someone comes onto a 3rd gen board and asks about a fox body mustang vert)

While I agree, looking at stock 3rd Gens can get tiresome, well not really

As far as being nice, there are times that things deserve nice criticism, such as those that put lights in their Ram Air II hood, though I like it, if I didn't I could see saying, ehh doesn't look all that good because of X.

But when I see "crap" and totally ridiculous stuff done, I can't help but type what is going through my mind. Some things are so over the top it doesn't deserve constructive criticism, well because there is none.

What if I came on here saying how I wanted to bolt a Z28 HI-rise spoiler on each door, I mean really come on, that's not much different than some of the stuff I see on here at times.

Ya, remember tech only this is such a waste of bandwidth,
think there should be some type of banning of mods, you can still speak your mind if you want to there are many creative ways around it, i mean if you really thot something was g0d awful ugly you can always send a PM,

as for the hey look a modded my car, "stock" its like looking in the paper "HUGE SALE" you go there and there 10 items and you went early too...

its funny Mark,
i remember being on here seeing the same faces "Screen names"
and reading there post and they where good ones too
but this site generates at lest 5 to 10 new members ever day and its the new age, i don't see hardly anyone anymore that i know
and there where some fun guys to but im sure they got banned or like you mark lost interest in this site, this site gets boring sometimes some of the same things are said and seen over and over, i think it would be good to let some off topic posts go a bit and at lest have some leeway if things didnt get to out of control,
i some times feel like where at day care

and thats all im going to say

You don't have to worry about that too much. I'm 16 and wouldn't even think about ricin' out my Camaro. I could have gotten a Honda if I wanted an ugly car. But I agree with the first post. Too many people post up pics of their projects sayin "What do you guys think?" and then they get pissed when you pont out the harsh reality that it looks like crap.

very useful post buddy thx.
i think the problem is ppl always want to be different. i shouldnt say problem because sometimes it works....but i stress sometimes. for the most part i like the stock apprearance of these car, with maybe a nice set of rims, or an aftermarket hood.
also i agree with you guys saying there are whacked out ideas, but thats the way some ppl tend to be going. for the most part if theres a nice cars in a post, ill give props, but if i go to a post and see some hideous excuse for a f body, i usually hit the back button and mind my own, just to stay away from conflict.
