Post your favorite valve covers
i'm in the process of looking for a set of valve covers to purchase...beacsue i'm running .540 of lift with roller rockers and i believe the stock covers will not fit over all of that...they are the centerbolt style...i found a nice set of chrome centerbolt tall style, but they don't seem to stand out with me...i'm looking for something huge! i'll get the adapter kit to run perimeter covers if needed....but my goal is to pop the hood, and listen to people say wow those covers are gigantic...i think it just makes an engine look mean when the covers are real big...which means they probably aren't gonna be stamped....i hope you guys know what i mean, but show me what you guys come up with....

By some big *** sheetmetal valve covers. Look in summit or jegs they run around 300 a set and will be the biggest meanest looking ones around.

Obviously not for you but may spark some ideas. You can get whatever you want engraved. I chose to paint mine when I got them back.
There are lots of examples on their website as well.

'69 Z28 valve covers... I'd kill for a set... but I don't have $500(usd) to buy a set.

What did you end up doing with that engine? Did it go with the car? I guess you won't need to worry about valve covers if you can hook up an LS2... you'll be asking about fuel rail covers
Those trickflow covers are on for $75 at Summit right now... that's a hell of a deal.. they are basically the same as the GMPP covers I have except they say trickflow. If I knew about them at the time I would have gotten those and milled off trickflow and polished the entire thing.

I've always wanted the TPI Vette valve covers, but I would like to see some with Pontiac on them. I know, I know Pontiac didn't make these engines, but still. The ones on Acceld Z's post look really nice, though.

change of plan...i got my heads back today, and i talked to the guy that did them about a valve cover choice...and i brought up i was thinking about getting the adapter then some perimeter covers...he said i woulnd't be able to because the bars for the adapters won't fit between the springs he said...he said he just did a set of heads with the same springs i got, which are 1.48 or something like that, he had to mill out the pocket for them to fit, and he said that guy tryed the same thing and ended up sending the adapters back...so he said just run a tall style centerbolt...don't they make a centerbolt cover that looks like the GMPP or the trickflow one? i love that style...the only one i kinda like is the one deepstage69 posted....anybody got any other cool looking styles? i would like a cast aluminum color or silver to match my HSR intake and whatnot....but i guess chrome would be alright too...

Schultzy89GTA: Where do you send them out to to get them engraved like that? Those look really sick. I have the same covers that Acceld Z has, but without the bowties and lines milled in them - they're just plain. I'd like to get them engraved eventually.

The place is called flaming engraving.

Take a look at their 'example pics'.
edit: godspeed - you posted when i was replying. Yes, i bought the valve covers from them and had them do the engraving. They work with you to create whatever design you want, send you proofs of what the design will look like before you approve the work to go forward etc. Really good customer service. Call them for a quote on the options you want. It was real money but not that much more than a decent set of valve covers imo.
The thing I liked about it was that I had an idea of what I wanted and they were able to nail it. I actually painted the red and gold after I received the covers.

Dang man I can't complete a post before you are on it again!
You have a pm.
If anyone is interested in working with this company give them a call or email them. They are great to work with and respond quickly. I am reluctant to post my cost because 1) depending on what you want it may be more or less and 2) if their prices are different I don't want to be lowballing them.

I like my Aluminum Edelbrock ones. The main reason being: they don't leak like the cheap chromies did that I put on the engine when I first built it
But yeah, I like how they look and I finished the HSR to match when I installed it. Definitely some sweet valve covers (and engines!) in here, that's for sure!
