What to do with my C5 Calipers
I'm about to powder coat my C5 calipers a candy wine color to match my intake and other engine stuff. I'm also putting on chrome ZR1 5 spokes on at the same time. What I can't decide is if I should leave the "corvette" lettering on the front of the caliper or not. Let me get your opinions. Thanks

I say leave them on. Just because your calipers say corvette doesnt mean your trying to make your car one. If i saw those on your car, i would just think that you had some performance brakes...

It might be kinda cool to leave 'em. Hell, how many people have LS1's with Corvette valve covers in their Camaros... why not calipers too?

na, you dont have a vette, dont have vette written on your car. I never liked it when people left the 'corvette' on the valve covers either.

ditch the letters. If i could get the paint and make it look good i would have ground down or filed down the letters and then painted them black . Or maybe red again .

Thanks for the continued input. I think I will take off the letters and see about those high temp stickers. I've got a Tojanand Not a normal trans am so I hope the guy can do custom ones. It would be pretty cool to put tojan on the calipers. I've surprised that over 200 people have viewed this and only 14 votes. Some people must either be lazy or not care. Thanks to those wh input. I'll let this go a little while longer.

Ok here's a couple of pic's. The bare engine compartment is what it looked like a couple of weeks ago. I've been working on a complete front end resto. I sandblasted everything bare. That pic is right after I treated it with POR15's metal wash and metal ready. I put 1 coat of POR15 on right after that. As soon as finals are over this week I'm going to put another coat of POR and then prime it. I'm going to fill over all the seams and such. I've got some dupont jet black and premium clear to go over it after that. I just took a couple of fresh pics and pic of my new chrome ZR1 wheel but my camera battery died and I have no idea where the spare battery or charger is. $%&%!!!!. I'll post more later. I also found out that guy on ebay selling stickers will make me ones that say TOJAN.

Wow that thing is amazing. Ive never seen or heard of a Tojan before but I like the idea of the Tojan on the calipers, that would look cool.

Well I've got the 17x11 rims with 315 wide tires. It will fit barely. I'm not sure about rubbing yet. I'll probably test fit them again this weekend. The way the fiberglass fenders are put on the inner wheel wheels aren't really wider than stock. I could do some fiberglass work but I'd have to repaint. I've been working on this car proect for about 11 months. I'm so ready to be done with it and drive the car again. I'm back in college after doing 6 years in the navy. While the navy sucked at least while you were in port when you went home for the day you had free time. When your in college for engineering going home just means a fun filled night of homework. I thought I'd have a little more time to work on stuff than I have. Thank *** this is finals week. I'm hoping to have the car back together in a month or so now that I'll have more time. I've done a lot of powdercaoting and painting of the small stuff. Once I finish paint the front end I can start putting stuff back together.

I say leave the Corvette on the calipers. I don't think it's ***** at all. I mean, Fbodies have alot of Vette hand-me-down parts, so why not keep our 'Daddy's' name on some.
