I like the old school black in the engine bay(mines satin black). The 406 runs good and uses alot of gas. I dont have any current times with it. I havent ran it on the track in about 3 or 4 yrs. But since then I have converted to the 165 ecm from the 85 ecm and within a couple weeks it should be getting dyno tuned then I will be done with it (hopefully). The master cylinder cover is from Billet specialtise sp? but i dont remember what application it was for.

On my Corvette, GTA and truck, I use "Greased Lightning" orange crap that you can get in a spray bottle in the automotive section at Wal Mart. It's by far the best cleaner I've found... far better than Simple Green and without the noxious fumes too.

I spray it on a dry engine bay, wait a minute, then hose it off. It even removed all of the caked on grease from the upper and lower ball joints on my corvette. Great stuff.

On a nicer car that's not driven as often, once you get it clean, it's easier to keep it clean. On my IROC, all I clean that engine bay with is my california car duster. Once a year I clean up the polished parts with some chrome polish, but otherwise I just dust things off. As long as the engine doesn't leak anything and you clean it often enough to prevent too much build-up, it is really easy to maintain.

That looks really nice and easy to work on (so empty).

Good work!

ok this might sound stupid but, I have always been afraid to hose my TPI engine off b/c of how old it is, is the wiring going to get screwed up if I do?? what else can be damaged by hosing it? I am too cheap to take it to a detailer to get the engine detailed. Espically after see what you have done.

Hate to **** on your parade but, water and soap does not make that engine bay happen.
