Yes, I am going to have to agree. I don't believe that RA hood works with it. It just doesn't look right. Now, put an SS hood on that thing, that would be sexy!

i think it would look interesting with an ss hood now that you mention it. also, if the ram air scoops came further forward. if you did one of those, got those triangles for the markers and widened the grill i would really like it. as it is now, it looks really good. i thought it looked a little like an import at first, but its coming together now. great job, as far as how much i like it, about the same as before the whole change. but i like pop-ups. keep up the good work, and keep us informed.

Well, at the beginning of this post, I didn't like it at all. The squared off front looked terrible, but I could tell there was going to be much more work needed.
Now that I see that the front end was smoothed off and rounded, it looks really good IMO. Something completely different. I don't like that RA scoop though. It sits too far up the hood and looks completely out of place.

I agree completely at first it didn't look all that great. But I think it has come a long way.

It just hit me.. now I think I know why I like it.. there are some styling cues to a more modern NASCAR. Maybe the Ford Tarus one...

I think the interior looks pretty good too, except I think the gauge "box" is a little too big for my taste......

honestly.....the first pics were horrible but showed promise. the second set looks so so much better...i think though, that with those headlights you're using, not matter what you do,it'll have the look of an import. just because of the shape. go with it though. it's different and shocking and everything out of the ordinary takes a while for people to get used too. look at any new remodeled car and at first people hate'em, then they wear on you....congrats again, keep up the good work

not yettie, in the process of gutting out the rear right now. I'll take a few pic's along the way, basically everything steel from the back seat area on back will be carbon/kevlar with the exception of the frame rails and a couple of bars tied to the rollcage to protect the gas tank and torque arm mount tied in as well. I want to make a rollpan type rear with cut outs in the bumper for the exhaust more of a C5 type bumper than a nascar look.
Now, put an SS hood on that thing, that would be sexy!

It's terrible. ah, don't worry about being a jerk I knew there was some risk of the final product looking "fast and furious". I would like to hear honest opinions as I am trying to avoid that "look" and I think a flat hood would help if only I had the room underhood. I suppose there are other ways to make power besides a tall intake.. I dunno what else.. making an actual grill instead of chrome expanded steel or mesh you see on all the riceroni cars.. I still wanna see an SS hood photoshop.
Hopefully I'll have some pic's of the back half project this weekend to post up!

Looks really good with the reshaped front in the second set of pics IMO. Wish I had that kind of time to put into my car.......... and the skills

You have a momentary toggle switch for the starter, right?
On the rear, put a Nascar like spoiler on it. I always loved the basic but functional look of their spoilers.

ss hood, also gave it some color and a grill from a porche carrera. Hope you dont mind. I'm still iffy on the ss hood, but it does look better then the ram air on it.

With the smaller SS hood, it looks the best yet. Asking opinions is good, but this is YOUR car. As long as your happy with what you make it, that's what matters. No matter what, there will be people who both like and dislike the design, you can't please everyone... only yourself. I personally like it, especially the last pic there above. Get it running before the end of next summer and take it to the TA Nats in Dayton, Ohio. You'll be in the "work in progress" class, for those doing mod projects such as yourself. I'dd say you'dd get first, your car looks great. Hats off to your work and originallity.

I thought the first couple of pics with the bumper ends still factory looked absolutely horrifying, especially since the gaps around the lights were all uneven and unconforming to the hood, etc.
The later pics, with the bumper rounded out and the seams matching better, really really surprised me. Id love to see a play by play on the process through all of that.
Id like to see some different angles of the whole car like that, to see how it looks with the rest of the car. So far, in the latest pics, the only thing that doesnt seem to fit to me is the parking lights. They just look a little big next to the new headlights...

I wanted to make it this year actually, just couldn't afford both that and the power tour. So yeah, anyway count me in!

to the photoshops, I am really diggin' that smaller hood scoop! I think that color is pretty nice too, I'd planned on using GM "sunburst" which is kinda like that same color for flames or a two tone, now i'm thinking about using it for the main color and have the dark grey metallic for the accents.

I'd have to drink a 12 pack before i could rip in to a car like that, lol. I have to admit, im not feeling the back so far, but id love to see where it goes... Cuz i wasnt feeling the front either, but it came out way better than i thought it would.
Just a thought and purely my opinion, but... With the elimination of the rear bumper, the scale of the taillights seems much much bigger. Are you planning on keeping those in there? Or molding the *** end of the car closed and replacing them with something custom? For instance, the area you blacked out... If that was gone, so the lights werent as tall, and if they were centered in the housing, the scale of them might not be so drastic appearing, but thats a lot of work for not a lot of change...
Center tailight piece, staying too?
Id love to see a full side profile in some decent lighting, but im sure youre busy, lol...
