Hell, maybe I could pick one up and skip the shipping, then loan it out here to make a mold from. ..

I found this pic on the site the other day. Maybe if it was smoothed out a bit on the edges it would flow nicer. I like the high cowl induction idea in the back with the ram air in the front.

It's sort of like a Jongbloed meets TT hood, done right.

Read this thread for info on that hood.
Google translator works wonders if the page is in HTML, unfortunately that first link has it's catalog in .pdf format (what a PITA).
I can't even find the hood on the second website (Grace Hardcore Racing, apparantly), though I can translate it just fine.
From the map it looks like this place is only about ~20 miles from where I'll be stationed.
How did anyone figure out how much it cost, did someone call them?

Come to think of it, I can't find the hood on the first site either, all I see is a carbon fiber IROC/Z28 hood.

someone from the boards emailed them. that was the rough figure they gave us.
hmm, if your going to be stationed close to them, you might be able to look at them to see if the quality is even worth 2k.
if someone were to make a carbon fibrer hood for the firebird, i think it should be the imca hood. jmo
thanks

Aha, I found it.

Looks like it only costs 168,000 Yen, which is $1519 (before shipping of course). Whoa.
This spoiler is 569.58, also looks decent I think.

If someone made that hood here in fiberglass and sold it at a comparable price to the popular hoods (SS, 3" and 4" cowl), they'd sell a whole bunch I think.

I would like to see a lower profile cowl hood. Something that looks good, but still gets air to the engine. That or 4th gen LT1 Firebird style air extractors.

I think that it looks the best IMHO. ok, where can I get them headlight covers? I have been looking for ones like that everywhere!!!!!
I like the jonbloed, SS, Iroc, and a 4" cowl (but that depends on the car really.)
Edit: Are there any better pics of the Jongbloed hood floating around on the internet yet? I am trying to find finished pics of the 3" and 5" ones. That one side profile I found of the 5" didn't look so hot. This hood has always been interesting to me, but I have not seen many.

i have always wanted to see a cowl hood (2"-3") with the Z28 louvers on it, i know theres a hood out there like this, but it has the stupid holes on the side that absolutely ruin the look of the hood. also the sides arnt straight, and it makes it look stupid, but if there was a normal cowl hood with the louvers i think it would look good.

i'm a sucker for a '91/'92 style Z28 hood....the blisters that come on my style car are just pure sex. i wouldn't be suprised if someone with some creativity put these blisters on a 4th gen hood

do you honestly believe that it fits the style of car... it would have to be really original, yet small enough to fit the lines. there are very few things you can pull off with a thirdgen hood and make it look good as far as the camaro setups go. a ta version with a shaker hood would look very nice.

Has anyone made the louvers on the IROC functional, How would the plastic louvers attach?

looks good, how are you going to tackle the hole in the hood? that's my biggest fear. a direct shot into the engine bay like that can mean trouble for a street car.

Honestly I don't know how it's going to go. Sitting still the water will run between the raidiator and the engine and while going down the road I hope it causes some sort of vacuum and suck water out and over the hood. But if not I will have to figure out something. THat hole is right infront of the supercharger thats awaiting install.

I think with the type of "hole" in the hood u have will suck air out nicely.. its like one big louver, the way the air flows over the hood.. when it encounters a "louver" it tumbles over the hole creating the vacume ur talking about so ur on the right track.....
ps.. what did u use for the beging hood... flat or a fiberglass aftermarket hood????
