Pic Request: '91-'92 GTA
I'm looking for pics of my dream car. It's a 91 or 92 GTA with a manual transmission and an L98 or better, Full leather interior, and all the GTA goodies.

OK... I'll start. Not sure this is a manual tranny or not but it has an LT1.

So, if you find one you'll know it's a home grown contraption.

Definitely homegrown.
So then... the GTA 350's didn't have a manual and the manual GTA's didn't have a 350. Is that the size of it?

And the GTAs were the ONLY thirdgens that had L98s with T-tops. And not many of them either. In 1988 I believe.

I guess a person's dream car should be something of their own creation.

as I understood it, 91 was the only year after 87 where t-tops and the 350 werent available together.
Sounds like you want something more custom. Sounds kinda like my dream car. 91-92, only a formula, tees, 350 or better

You will understand the fascination on a sunny summer day
My friend's 87 IROC had t-tops and a 350...however this combo was uncommon (but not impossible to find) in later years. But thirdgens never came with 350/manual, as someone else already said.
I have seen a (modified, obviously) 92 Camaro convertible with an LS1 and T56. Talk about awesome

On the GTA, were T-Tops an option? I could totally have my dream car without them but wouldn't mind if they were there (especially after owning a vert).
I have had 2 IROC verts actually and they were very nice.A T-Top car on the other hand just isnt worth the squeaks and rattles.Maybe u guys should try a hardtop. You would be amazed.

Guess I was wrong on L98s and T-tops
They are very rare, in any event. And like I said, no L98s with sticks.

One of these days some avid F-body person working at GM is going to have A LOT of free time and take the time to enter every VIN and RPO into a database so we can know EXACTLY how many of what where made in what year... until then we really don't know how rare anything is. Pre-91 350 T-tops cars aren't really that hard to find, 91-92 pretty much the only 350 and T-tops where Formys w/ the Crosslace wheels.

A guy down the street used to own a jade green 92 GTA 350 w/ ttops. He died and his son has been trying to sell it for 8k for years. It had like 125k on it and there were A LOT of little things wrong. Purple tint, broken buttons/switchs. C&C ttops, torn leather, etc. Nice car but not worth 8k.

not to be a smart ***....but if youre just looking for a pic, and not the actual car to buy. Whats the difference which engine/tranny it has? youre not looking at that part of a car. I could post a 305 auto. and you wouldnt know the difference.

Hi there lawbreaker2!
Long time!
You have a nice thirdgen!
We have a red '91 Firebird with the Sport Appearance Package, with an auto/305 TBI setup.
Still thinking of moving out here?
George

I posted somewhere over in the history thread to you about the nascar pace car. will be going that way again next week, I now run with a aircard on my laptop when on the road,
I just wish I can get these pic to upload allreadly. I have some inter. pic's And my gta has drum read brakes, So I think only like 62 were made with a drum brake. keep in touch,
