It seems that the LOUVERS (nice call on the spelling error) were in for awhile but have really faded out, I still dig 'em and I guess thats all that really matters right?. I was talking to a guy who owned an 86 vette and he just put the louvers on the vette, pretty nasty lookin

i think that they look ok on a camaro, or a bird with the areo wing, but not with the standard wing. If the car has the restored look then their alright, but i don't care for the way they look on yours.

Personally I don't like them. I didn't like them in the 80's either. to me they make a sleek car look bulky. But if you like them, keep them.
And I would dump the salad shooters too. But if you keep the louvers might as well keep them and go retro look.

It's like those altezza taillights. In the 2000's people are like "where can I get those ub3r kewl altezzas yo", and they slap them on their car and call it the shiz.
But in like the 2010's people will be on classic civic websites going "I know altezzas are dated, but what are your opinions" and then everybody will go "oh man, those SCREAM 2000's", "Man I can almost hear an American Idol singing when I look at those taillights man"

I guess Im just a little backwards, I like the spoiler/louver combo and I dont really like the aero wing, Im looking to get rid of the salad shooters and its about time I changed my tires anyway (although it seems I took an unpopular stand in my wheel choice from the looks of the other post)

Whenever I see louvers on the back of a car, they always remind me of a cockroach. The way the ridges look and what not.

Hey fish, those look like the Cragar aftermarket type, a universal fit to accomodate rear wiper cars.
The factory style sits lower and the effect is less obvious.
The option is correct for the time period (I recall 3rg gens are an 80's car, correct me if I'm wrong) and they are best way to reduce heat and upholstery damage inside.

And regardless of what my Daddy says, opinions are like ...well you know what I mean.
If you like em leave em on and dont let the taste experts here convince you otherwise.

Mr. IROC-Z beat me to the cockroach remark--black seems to make the comparison worse. If you like the look, disregard the negative remarks.

85 TA WS6: Those louvers look good.Ive heard of the one piece ones that sit lower but never seen them until now. They do look much better than the ones that sit higher for the rear wiper.Thats what I have and its made by crager. If I had your kind id probably install them on my car.My cragers are for sale if anyones intrested. To hard to ship but if any one is intrested near SoCAl and wants to pick them up ill give that person a great deal.

yea they look absolutely horrible. take the off the car and send them to me. my address is...
lol just kidding, i love the louvers. i love the 80s and if you are restoring an 80s car, then make it 80s. how much cooler to 69 camaros look when they are restored to look like 60s versus when they are restored to look modern. just my opinion. im lookin for some factory ones myself, especially since i dont have the rear wiper. i just cant justify spending the amount of money that people are asking for them.

Great thread, guys
I just wanted to add my two cents. Since it seems that everyone here likes them I thought I would see what his car would look like with the GM ones installed.

Happy moshpitting!
