Never thought i'd be here 2 years ago

Rocky mountain rod and custom show this weekend, it is an invite only show ....It really got me thinking 5 years ago when i bought my first thirdgen, hell 2 years ago today actaully when i bought the rs i never imagined i'd be at this show, never thought i'd have a 2k dollar air ride suspension sitting next to me, hell never thought i'd make it to 20, going up for the opening of the show today was unreal for me, its like all the crap i went through when i wsa young all of it its like i've overcame it and made something out of my life, i NEVER imagined having a show car, having the cash to buy 18's and big brakes and airride and spend that kinda money on paint....I look at the car and its like i dont deserve, like how could i have come so far and do what i've done.....Yea its been a weird day for me but heres some pics, awards banquet is on sunday before moveout, looks real good considering some of the other stuff in my class, (conservative hard top 90-02)

I'll get the rest of the pics loaded shortly theres an 82 t/a up there but classes different, a 82 pace car also classed differetn and in the for sale area downstairs a lowrider iroc thats kinda nasty.....but here ya go my first indoor show

pics arent uplaoding great, the lighting is kinda dark where i'm at but the stripes look awesome some are very visable when you walk up on it, its rough getting pics, ust behind where i'm taking pics is the socal vendor booth and theres alot of traffic cars getting tons of attention especailly from the young crowd, i am happy its showing awesome, next year i might setup a little display with shiny crap around it and lights and mirrors but i am thrilled

i dont know about you mw lol

Thanks guys, had awards sunday night i took first place in my class which was conservative hard top 90-02, cant wait till next year 10th anniversary, its so unreal to me just to be at the show but then to win, they gave us real nice plaques with a pickture of our car on it and what we won, dodged a bullet getting home as the big snow they were predicting kinda missed denver so i was able to drive it home

ANd now its in the garage getting ready for air ride, wheels and tires, a/c delete, smoothing out the front of the engine compartment, reworking the grill lots on the list but show season officially starts out here may 26th so i got lotsa time

I'll get those pics of the other thirdgens up soon

lol yea, i didnt like the stress the struts were putting on the hood, i went through a ton of different combos but didnt like any of em and i dont wanna pay the 90 bucks or whatever for the glass struts, i took a rod and bent it so it locks into the latch, then welded a piece of pipe for the secondary latch to fit into, smoothed all the welds and painted it chameleon ice, it looks great especailly in the sun, that and i can sit the hood nice and low....I put that prop together in 2 days before super chevy show and to my suprise alot of folks are using just bare steel or small shower curtain things...It works and the hood doesnt rock around in the wind
