What do you think of my car
Besides the obvious like paint and new spoiler(?), what else should I do? I wanna get rid of the wheels... And I'm gonna paint it once I get it running right...
I know it ain't much, but it's my first car.

Here's how it sits now lol

The half *** primer was not done by me

Wow, are those Cragar SS/T's??? I haven't seen a set of those in years.
It's nicer than my first car.

Not bad at all for your first car. I personally like the stance its got. I started out with a car just like yours, actually a lot worse. Mine started out without a floor
. I know how it is being young with not a lot of money. Yours has some awesome potential, its got a straight body with no rust ( unlike mine),, shiny wheels
, AND IT RUNS ?
Rust, money, girls, time still hasn't stopped me from making my car into what i want it to be.
BTW im 17, I'm still on my first car, bought my sport coupe when i was 14 with paper route money i saved LOL

looks like a good start. Personally, I would keep spoiler. It is not very often that you see that one. As far a wheels, Irocs. Or any aftermarket 5 spoke.
Hope that primer was sprayed on top of the existing paint or a primer sealer. Remember unless sealed, primer is porous and will lead to rust. Just had to add that in since I saw the snow on it.

Besides paint I'd just start with the basic little things that these cars usually need. These include new parking lamps, maybe clear markers if you like that look, black out the headlight buckets and polish the tailights. These little details will go a long way. Good luck with her.

Thanks guys. Lol I was expecting everyone to say "ugly POS"
Firebird 383 - Yep. 15" Cragar SS/T's. They were on the car when I bought it.
carlover01 - I like the stance of my car too, but I hate it at the same time. So many times people try to race me thinking my car is fast... If I had stock wheels and same size tires no one would lol.
Camaroguy18 - I am going to get a new front valance before I get it painted. The one on there now is all scratched/cracked up. Usually I just throw another coat of primer on there so it doesn't stand out too much lol... Honestly I wasn't even aware of it didn't match the rest of the gfx until someone, I think it was you that pointed it out to me in another thread.

i'd go with the high rise spoiler from '91/'92 Z28's. get a Z28 grill without fog lights, maybe a nice cowl hood...
i dont think i'd go with stock wheels, but definatly check into some nice 5 spokes, they will help out the car alot.
all in all, you have a great starting point, it looks in good condition, just needs some TLC

I'm actually lovin' those rims
Not too bad for a start.
Don't be stupid like I was when I was 18, please!!! I had an 87 Firebird w/ 67K miles (back in 02-03) and body was 90-95% condition, only a little surface rust by the wheel wells, and a slight bit of paint fade. I got rid of it b/c it was a 2.8L auto and only got 11.5MPG's
Now I hate myself
I did come across an old registration paper the other day, gotta figure out where I stuck it and then have my buddy run the VIN (his dad is Chicago PD) so I can find out who owns it now, maybe try to get it back if it hasn't been ruined

Yep, its a camaro spoiler used only in 88. The firebird spoiler extends out onto the quarters while the camaro one tucked in and stayed on the hatch itself.

that spoiler was only available on the 1988 SportCoupes...which came standard with gfx that year...and that spoiler, to differentiate it from the RS, which was reintroduced that year in california.

I just got my first car, an 86 z28, and the trans just took a dump on me. but once i do the manual conversion it will be an awesome car, between the new motor, new rear, new interior, rims+tires, etc. similar stance too. i live in md by the way.

Yeah not bad at all I do like the stance on it.
My first car at 17 was a mint 1989 Trans Am GTA L98 only 62k on it. Yeah and only paid 3k for it.
Now 3 years 117000 miles later looks pretty bad
, a little rust on every flat surface wing is shot interior in need of new everything. but soon soon it will be nice again. Summer is going to be fun for my baby. Lots of new stuff.
Good luck with the car man.

Awesome first car. Tons of potential.
My first ride was a 3 color '89 Escort, so you're pretty lucky.
