smoked tail lights

i know there's been a thread on here that explained how to smoke the tail lights using clear coat with a lil' bit of black paint mixed in, and i did a SEARCH for it and couldn't find the one i was looking for...anyone know who did it? and is it really difficult at all? i read an article on it in Super Chevy but it wasn't very detailed and i want to do this to my car, but i dont wanna screw it up...

Go buy a can of "Nightshade" It was made to smoke lenses. And looks awesome. Don't ask me where to get it though, I've been looking myself.

Super Chevy had an article that didn't use Nightshade...but instead just regular clear coat with a small amount of black paint mixed into the solution. the guy made several light passes as it got darker and darker each pass until it looked the way he wanted it, and then let it sit, buffed it, and then put more regular clear coat on it...

Ya, just buy some VHT niteshade. The more coats you aply the darker it gets. I got mine from a place called Performance Solutions but
Summit carries it too and ive seen it on Ebay for $10.

Good luck have fun

Speed
P.S. i decided to just go with blackout covers[less trouble]
