"To leave the door strip or remove the door strip, That is the question"

I can't decide on what to do with the car. I'm between the clean lines and having it broken up a bit. I don't park the car in parking lots so denting is not a problem, just can't decide on what to do. The car is getting painted on Monday so I have to decide soon.

The car now:

I have to say I like em. They where part of an extra cost option package.

I like the clean look so yank them .But if you decide to keep them i would have them take them of ,paint the car ,paint the strips then put them back on.makes for a cleaner job.IMO

looks cooler w/o them, but the minute you take them off, somebody is gonna obliviously smash your door up.

yeah it's bound to happen the drivers door has 6 riples from previous encounters of the parking lot kind. I do avoid parking lots at all costs, or I park way in the back and I'll do the 2 spot thing. The big problem is where I live. My s/c takes up the driveway and out front it's all parallel parking and a few neighbors know when to stop backing up by when they hit the car I'm getting the worlds most sensitive alarm so they'll know they breathe on the car the whole block will know, let alone back into it.

rip them off, i think they look cleaner and i think they are dated, look at the newer higher end models cars now days. plus they dont work worth crap. a truck door that opens will miss the strip, even a kid in a mini van provides no protection. keep'em if you like the look, i ripped my off before i painted.

My thoughts exactly. When I did the 86 to 91 body style swap on my Iroc, I used the 88 - up moldings. They were pretty expensive. I'd keep them.
