headlight mod question

i know ive seen a few cars that at one point in their life had pop-up headlights and got those fixed. i have an 88 bird and i was wondering how i could get rid out those ugly pop-ups. are they all self fabrication or does someone actualy make them? thanks in advance for any help too.

more than likely the person made them themselves.
As far as pop ups, I like them. At least now that I got mine working again!

A friend of mine use to have a GTA that he modified a set of the corvette aftermarket pop-up eliminators to fit his. I think he had to fab some brackets. Looked like bug eyes popping out of the hood a little. They stuck up about 1 1/2"

You have to fabricate them. There is one guy on here that has newer style sunfire headlights but that requires modifying the hood and maybe front bumper. If someone would fabricate a C6 setup that might be sweet, maybe? Otherwise, say hello to camaro.

Our light pocket is not deep enough to mount the camaro lights. Bumper cover will cover about 1/3 of the light.

yah there way too big, the closest fit factory headlights i found where out of a 93 grand prix and they were still to big. its going to be custom not a junkyard fix. id sale my headlight buckets with the foglights and everything in them ready to hook up if u wanted that conversion but u will have to buy the updated light harness from summit i dont remember that part number but our factory wiring isnt strong enough to push them.

me and redraif have the same conversion. i modeled mine after hers. the lights have a wider beam and are super bright for just one of them but 2 or 4 of them is crazy. its just gettin the factory wiring to push the lights.Summit: SUM-G6219 HI-4 Light kit. that should solve that problem but i abbandoned the idea of non pop ups. here is raifs tutorial on how she did it

lighting was great. it wanted to do two for low beams and all four for highbeams. the problem was switching to highbeams the power that the lights were pulling was to much for the factory wiring to push so thats what the wiring kit was for. we took one off and hooked it straight to the battery and it lit up the backyard. brighter than when two were on on the car. so basically the only thing to figure out is how to get the right amount of power to go to all of them.

it was a lil bit of fabrication. mostly just trying different things to get the best fit with most adjustment possible.i think i got it about the best i could but it dont have a lot of adjustment. total i would value them at about $150 for work and lights and all.
