does rain-x work?

I am thinking about putting it on my windshield since the rainy season is coming. Does anybody have it on their windshield? does it work?

Yea, i think it works pretty good. Just make sure you leave it on and let set for about 20mins before rubbing it off.

That stuff works like a dream. Unless it's raining really heavy I don't even have to use my wipers. It works perfect along w/ the rake of our windshields. And for under $2 a bottle u can't go wrong!

From personal experience...
We applied Rain-X to the window of an 86 GS Corvette, then took the car through a storm (not intentionally) and reached speeds in excess of 80 MPH and the Rain-X (and wind) kept the windows clean and clear enough, the wipers weren't necessary

It works fine, but will wear off after a month or 2, especially if you use your windshield washer pump a lot.

it works well but when i do use my wipers they chatter a lot because of the rain-x. also it causes the wipers to leave behind a mist for a second or two and that really really aggravates me

I agree with the post above. If you do decied to use Rain-X, be sure to do a super job because when you do decide to use your wipers, it leaves a sea of little drops behind. It's usually harder to see through those little drops than it is to just leave the wipers off.

In my oppinion, Rain-X was developed for every square inch of glass on your car EXCEPT where the windshield wipers touch. It is essentialy the same thing as waxing your windshild.

Just my $.02

I applied it once on my side and back window to my Bonneville and I'll never do it again. It leaves the side windows and the rear window hazy and you can't wash it off! Only the windshield gets the rain-x now, and it works great!

Once rain-x is applied, is the glass still Windex-able? I've heard it creates a film that's really hard to clean off.

I find Windex always leaves a film behind. Cant really tell in the daytime, but at night with the wipers on it's noticeable IMHO.

I only use the Rain-X windsheild wiper fluid. I don't have any film build up and it refreshes the windsheild w/ Rain-X everytime you turn on the wipers w/ mist.

peace...

You don't even need wipers with rain-x. The rain beeds up and the wind pushes it right off! Great product.
