just detailed the car... how do I keep the dust off?

I just dropped $140 to have my car detailed, and it looks BEAUTIFUL. The wax job is excellent.

The problem is, I store my car in a garage with A LOT of dust. (Maybe it's concrete dust?) I was wondering if there was a product i could use to keep the dust off my car? Or, is there a product you reccomend to use to wipe off my car when I take it out?

Also, what kind of towels/cloths/mitts should I use to apply the product?

Thanks!
Bill

Get yourself one of those car dusters with the beeswax in it. Works great and won't scratch your car. I dust my car between washings all the time.

I already have a car cover... but there will still be dust. Thanks for the tip tho!

What is a carduster with beeswax? I've never seen one. Where can I pick it up?

Any other ideas?

Maybe I should put up some pics of it. It's soooo shiny

Thanks guys/gals!

The Original California Car Duster that IROCThe5.7L mentioned. There are other brands I think, but that is the one I have. You can get them in two sizes, but I think one is for the dash. I think mine (large one) was about $12 at Wal-Mart.

Oh, and instead of beeswax, it's paraffin wax ... my bad.

use a california car cover, they sell dust only ones , but since you have a black car your gonna need a car duster and get some quick detailer and some microfiber towels. i use a car cover all the time and if i happen to leave it over night or two in the garage with no cover ill use the duster.

Personally, and this is takling from experiance with a black car, i would stay away fromt those dusters... i dusted mine of 3 times before it started leaving those nice annoying micro scratches..... buy some stock in microfiber towels and some detail spray

if it helps any, I was having the dust issue in my garage as well, I was uncertain why really, I rarely do any actual work in the garage, I have a building behind the house for that. I pulled everything out of the garage and pressure washed the whole thing. That seemed to help drastically with the dust issue, and it only took me a couple hours work.

As far as dust on my car goes, I normally rinse it off and chamois it, but my car is white and I don't have to be quite as careful with the paintjob.

Forgot to mention the car looks awesome 8') Sweet GTA

Either your duster had debris in it, or you were pushing way too hard.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Maybe I should post some pics of the car after detailing.

I went to R and S Strauss the other day, and of course, they didn't have the car duster. Maybe I should just order it online.

In terms of quick detailer... Pep Boys had Meguiar's Qwick Detailer. Is this what you gentlemen were referring to? Or were you talking about a different brand? They also had spray wax by a few companies including Meguair's.

What kind of bothered me about the Qwick Detailer was that it said it was time to get a new wax job when the detailer became "hard to wipe off" This is making me think that it slowly strips the wax off my car. If this is the case, I think I'll go for another company's product.

Thanks again for your help!
