I bought a pair of low beam and high beam ones for my camaro but when I put them on they were all messed up so I talked to the guy I got them from and he said I had to put in relays to my headlight switch a seperate ones for the lights and such so I sold them to someone else because I didn't feel like taking the time to do all that. so just to let you know they won't just switch with the factory lights.

This auction doesn't mention the use of relays in order for them to work.

i just won them last night and should get them soon. they seem to be similar to just changing the normal headlight. i emailed him to find out about any relays or are they just a direct hook up, so i'm waiting for a response.

I found this site while looking for more info and thought this disclaimer was interesting. The site was http://www.hidlights.com/

I've had mine for about 1 year and I have bright white hologen. They look like any other bright white headlight on most new cars, I've never been pulled over nor have I ever had a problem with them. They replace your existing sealed beam headlight and the bulbs can be changed from behind. They have a grey bubber boot for sealing purposes also.

I got these for my T/A, and they are in no way better than the stock headlights. No matter what bulb you get, your best bet is stock. The blueish, HID wannabe bulbs, look like trash, and strain your eyes. The hyper white, or plasma bulbs direct the intensity to a focused beam that kills your periferial sight. I don't recomend them.

I got the same ones off of ebay. And when I hooked mine up, my high beams (inner halogens) would come on at the same time as the outer ones. I could not turn them off. I emailed the seller about 20 times with my problem and he never responded.

Anyway, I found out from a friend that works at a local speed shop that the bulbs I recieved has a double filament in them. Which means that both high beams and low beams are in the same bulb. These bulbs are mostly made for imports. I was told that I have to do some minor wiring modifications to make them work. Unless I can find the correct bulbs with the single filament. But he told me that no one makes them. So unless ur willing to mess around with you're wiring dont purchase them. The seller on ebay knows it but he/she won't tell you.

Another way to make them work is to disconnect you're high beams all together (inner halogen). But its up to you guys.

Good luck.

i emailed them and asked them about this, and this is what they said.

This is true and I just recently found this out myself. they do fit and plug in an light up so since they are the same size I assumed they work and its only the camaro I am having trouble with. I have not been ignoring anyone. I have been telling people that I am trying to find out why this happens and what they can do but Im no electrician on cars and no one has been able to help me or answer my question. So I have been refunding everyones money who has bought my camaro kits. If you look on ebay no one else is selling them anymore because no one could figure out what is going on. If you want to talk about this more or if you know whats going on we can talk and call me at 619 422 5391 M-F from 5pm-10pm pacific time

And easier replacement for better lighting would just be using Sylvania's Cool Blue lights,, they are a very nice white light on the road and look diferent (blueish color of light) from standard halogen lights, and are $12-$15 a bulb. They plug in directly and are seald beam just like standard halogens.

my electrician friend told me the same thing my other friend told me bout the bulbs. just look into the H4 Xenon bulb and you will see two filaments inside the bulb. and just fyi, the filaments are the spring looking things inside the bulb where it actually lights up. one filament is for low beams and the other lights up for the high beams.
thanks

I had hyperwhite H4 bulbs in mine , with the aftermarket light housings . After about 6months I removed them . They look almost dead similar to HID , but I couldnt see at night . The beam pattern is HORRIBLE to say the least . I bought bulbs from a few manufacturers with the same result from them all .
I have a new found liking to sealed beam lights

It would be nice to be able to get the outters to be both High and Low beam so that the inners could be taken out and that empty void be replaced with a ram air system though...

I just found out recently myself that for some reason these kits do not work for the camaro. They fit and plug in just fine so we were told they would fit but they dont. We got ahold of a camaro and did lots of tests to get them to work and all we came up with was to break off one of the plugs on the actuall bulb which would make them work fine but when you hit your high beams the low beams go out they wont both stay on together. or you can unplug your high beam all together. thats all we could come up with if you want to do this let me find out which one of the bulbs plugs to break off its either the right or left (not the middle one) and they will work and if not you can send them back for a refund
thanks

GE makes a halogen "high output" sealed beam
for third gens. They are very bright at night and extend the beam pattern to the sides of the vehicle also. I have had a set in my 88 thirdgen and love'em!

I have the Autopal headlight conversions on my car. I also have the PIAA H4 HIDs for the bulbs. These match the lights on the lexus's very close. I've gotten pulled over once. But i have paperwork saying that the are legal. I can see at night with these headlights I'm using. But the price of the headlight bulbs are $90. I'm gonna switch from these regular conversions over to the diamond-cut back headlight conversions. I might be selling the ones i have right now for $60 for the pair. email me if you're enterested @ lilsap91@cs.com

Im sorry - I just installed them last week, and haven't taken any pics of it yet, and I don't have a digital camera - so I wont be able to post any pics real quick.
I'll take some though, and post whenever I get'em back!

well, i have the conversion hid lights installed and i must say i love the way they look. the only prob is that i had to disconnect my high beams like mentioned eariler because the high and low beams stayed on together. the high beam looked like a day time running type light for how dim it was and the low beams looked normal. so i'm just gonna have to break off that one plug on the bulb it'self for the low beam like the seller said (the one the green wire goes to), the only down fall is that the high and low beams wont be on at the same time anymore when i put the high beams on. owell, my fog lights are bright enough already anyway, and i'm gonna buy those sealed cool blue ones for my high beams. that should look and work good.

hey guys, i just replaced my lights bout three weeks ago, i hate one headlighters so the second i noticed i was on my way.
i had a friend that worked there and he told me that, the purple boxed xenon sylvanias are brighter than the cool blues. if ya want color and less light, go for blue, if ya want just plain clear white, go purple box, (sorry, no model numbers nor true names off the top of my head) im quite happy with the purple boxed syvanias, tho i recomend changin both at once, cause one side will be dirtier, and im just picky like that,
hope this helps,
