They are offering over 1000 EURO's just for the hood, yes only the HOOD!
or is it some special limited edition or something?

there's millions of those hoods in USA, not sure what it's like in the netherlands though
I can't read anything on that site, so I can only guess by the pictures. The only thing I can think of is maybe it's an aluminum hood from the early firebirds. I forget who made them, it could've been slp or something, but I remember reading somewhere on here that those hoods were really hard to get and when they had replacements you had to prove you had the car that came with the hood and then it still cost like 2500 or something like that.

I was stationed in Germany for 4 years and learned a lot about the European culture. They are HUGE fans of American "Muscle" cars, and that's starting to include the cars built in the 80's. While I have no idea what sparked this, I only know that one of the garage/shop owners where I had my car serviced paid over 12,000 EURO, that's around $16,000.00, for a beat up 89 GTA. Had I brought my 67 Camaro over with me, I probably could have sold it for $20k in it's current non-running condition. IF you guys want to sell your cars, look over seas. It truly is a sellers market over there!
Prices like that are normal over here in Europe since it is hard to find any donor cars unlike the US. 1000€ for a Cowl Hood is normal. Having an american car over here is very expensive

Tell us Mr. Dutch and Mr. Swiss... is there a decent cool factor attached to driving a 3rd Gen around Europe?

WELL, i allready bought about 3 hoods for my camaros, and i can tell you , the most expensive hood i bought was 200 euro's, but that was because i desperatly needed it at that moment!
normally i pay about 100 euros for a used clean, dent-free-rust free hood.
so thats why i was so surprised with the firebird hood.
Muscle cars are popular here, but prices arent THAT different!
