Just painted my car orange, now what, any advice or ideas
Hi everyone,
i just painted my 69 Hugger orange. The car looks ok, i still need to wet sand and buff out the orange peel but i am looking for ideas on what to do next. Honestly the car kind of looks too plain as it is. I was going to put heritage stripes on it, i already have them. Now i am thinking perhaps a flame job would compliment this best. Any ideas?

wheels and tires
lower it
hide the exhaust
you could do some pinstripping or actual stripes in classic black or a metallic silver

I wouldn't go too crazy with the flames, maybe ghost flames. I personally like the subtleness of them. I like the choice of color. Is that one of the stock colors of the 1st gens? Trending Topics

I'll be differant and say go with some wide white stripes with black outlines, some TT2's and black out the grill.I think that would look pretty pimp.

heres a hugger orange (not sure whos car thought), but just from the front and a teasing kind of side view shot, u can tell it's pretty bad a$$ with a nice set of rims and tires, and black stripes....no black buckets on it tho.
put the door trim back on, the car looks too rounded out and plain without it. i'd paint the headlight pockets, change the grill, tint it, THEN see what it looks like before you put stripes on it. im not so sure stripes of any color would look good on an orange car. also upgrade to the grid style tails
dont put flames on it

paint the headlight buckets black , do the japanese camaro grill paint job . And some new wheels . And then go from there.
thanks for the advice
Thanks for your advice everyone. I was planning on blacking out the headlights. I am not a fan of lowering the car (not my style). I am looking for some wheels right now, but i have not found anything yet. I already have the black heritage stripes so i will probobly do that. I want to replace the side molding, but they dont make orange. I may have to paint some old side mold, anyone have a set they want to donate? A red set would work best i think. The interior on the car would look so much better black, but my grey interior is in such nice condition. I was thinking perhaps the black/red or black/silver stripe that runs around the top of the ground effects, like on the iroc's would be good. I dont know, i will keep you updated!

BLack 17" zr1s with the polished lip. Black heritage stripes. Dark tint and blacked out buckets.
After you decide on wheel and tire fitment then make decision on whether or not it needs lowered.
Either shave the side moldings or color match them, really isnt any other way to go about it.

hey man i saw your car in a magazine the other day i think it was popular hot rodding or something.
but ya my opinion, black buckets dark tint grid tails big chrome wheels or even black with a nice chrome lip would look killer and put in a black iroc style grill get some clear sidemarkers some nice emblems. and to me it looks like it needs something on the side like its too plain and orange a black pinstripe or even an iroc-z door sticker would look good on it.

Heritage stripes in low glass (or satin) black. Do the stripes first. You may decide the headlight buckets may be too much black. If you're going to do the interior, take a look at a houndstooth pattern in orange/black.
