shaved it...put it under the dash...and it works pretty good...I don't listen to the radio much...but when I do...it's not bad
i unscrewed my factory antenna and have yet to have any radio reception problems. it looks much better. the antennas on these cars are in such a bad location and look so out of place

I shaved mine and went with a 12 volt powered antenna. its mounted inside on the windshield above the mirror. Reception is amazing and the antenna is barly noticable which is nice. it was only like 20 bucks so its worth it. ill try to grab a pic tomorrow.

Hah, GM used to put the antennas in the windshields, like on my Malibu.... You cant see it unless you look for it, and it works well! why did they stop doing this?

can you buy antennas that glue onto your windshield like the rear defrost? that would be amazing if i could have that kind of hidden antenna.

I vote for the retractable power unit. Look at my image below in my sig.. power antenna is down and you can just barely see the nipple from which it extracts from.
i have yet to find a power unit that works well. i've been using the factory antenna just stuck up under the dash because both my $100 dakota digital and $4 radio shack version don't work as well as the gm unit. if i could find a gm unit stand alone i would do that first.

Re: your antenna
I disassembled the power antenna that came with my '92 and fixed it. Basically it just needed to be greased and re-assembled. One of the mast sections was slightly bent too. I still haven't actually replaced the rivets that held the case together...oops.
Anyway, I like having the power antenna and like Brisk said all you see is the little bezel the antenna comes out through!

Just my .02, but if you shave it and put it in the dash or use one on the windshield that obviously works too!!

Re: your antenna
I love my power antenna. I bought a broken one off eBay and the repair kit from MDM and fixed it. I'm going to paint the bezel red to match the rest of the car.
