My wheels wont come clean???

I have the flat style turbo snowflake wheels and I cant get them to come clean. The are aluminum and have stains of some sort on them. I've tried to clean them with eagle one chrome and aluminum polish but it didn't work. I heard that that WD-40 would clean it. I haven't tried that. I also heard that ketchup works too, I haven't tried that either. What is you recommendation on clean them??

Thanks

Ketchup? I like to use mustard and rub it in with a pickle.

Ha Ha Funny, No really, ketchup works with some metals, but I dont which ones and if it works with aluminum. I've used it before and it works, I have proof.

use a sos pad- I used them on my stock rims all the time and made them look brand new ( with brake stains 2 years old )and I used them once on my new rims to get some brake dust off again and it worked great!

did you use any chemicals when scrubbing, or just the straight pad (the SOS)?

If you think it's stains from brake dust, try using a standard aerosol brake cleaner before taking something abrasive to them. I was very surprised to find out how well it works.

If it doesn't, you can also try a green ScotchBrite pad before heading for the steel wool ...

Another alternative you might want to try is purchasing a fairly inexpensive multi-purpose solution called "Simple Green". You should be able to get this at a store like Target or Rite-Aid for about $3.00-$5.00. I'm not sure how well it works against tough stains, but if you want to get your wheels clean without spending almost an hour (like I did today on mine :/), try that.

SUPER CLEAN sucks sh*t on these wheels....I have them! BUT.... I have come up with the solution!! Super Clean works great for CLEANING the wheel but it dulls the fu*k outta the chrome finish!! One day I super cleaned the wheels and it dulled the finish and I was p*ssed but while spraying "tire wet" on my tires I got some on the wheels and wouldn't ya know it, while wiping the wheel off it got shiny!! So I went around to all the other wheels, Super cleaned the brake dust crap off of there, and then immediately sprayed "tire wet" on the wheels and wiped it off with a soft cloth....sorta buffing it by hand!! This worked great!!

Oh yeah...since I'm thinkin' about it! Don't ever use Mequiars wax to wax your car! I sprayed some "tire wet" on my hood because I was bein' stupid and believe it or not it made my hood shine better than the Mequiars wax!! After about six months I can still tell where I put that stuff on there too and the rest of the car looks like crap again!!

I've been using Super Clean on my rims for over a year now and there's nothing wrong with my rims....as long as you read the back it will say it will scar or dull alunium if exposed for TOO long.

I scrub them for about 60seconds and them rinse them and nothing ever happened to them
and one of my rims has the coating comming off and it's bare alunium and still no efect there either
Works good for me
