Transmission: T-5 , 4 speed auto
Axle/Gears: 3.42 , ?
BEST WAY TO REMOVE ????

getting ready for new paint . want to remove side bump strips from , fender , door , and rear quarter panel [dont think i will re-install them ] . anyway does anyone have tips on removal ? i was thinking heat gun , plastic scrapers , and mineral spirits for glue removal . any help on this would be welcome . i do have time and i will not grind them off my baby . thanks , uncle tom

just like you said heat gun... i had mine parked in the summer sun and they came off easily with a little residue left over

Heat it up, start at one end with a stiff scraper and peel away. It most likely will leave the black adhesive strip. If so just scrape it off with a razor blade.

When I removed mine, it had baked in the gold old So Cal sun for a few hours and it came off kinda easy. Whatever residue was left over I actually got off with the help of Windex

Did mine over the summer

They didnt release worth a flip in the sun. I used some gum remover and it softened them up slightly

Only way i found was to scrap it off inch by inch with your thumbnail
Took me 2 days to get all the residue off

Hope yours goes smoother than mine did

Would of been alot easier with a razor blace. Just have to be careful.

A can of adheasive removing is a little pricey($12-20)but it'll save you hours of messing with a that gummy residue. i used it for removing trim from my chev truck with great results.be prepared for hi build and block sanding work around the areas tho
